Oh... and as for E3. It's simple for me. For me it's all about the reveals.

Afterall it's the one day of the year reveals are put up against each other....

Microsoft basically had motion control.

Sony had a Wiimote and an FF14.

Nintendo had a sequel to the highest rated game on the system, a new 2D mario and Metroid.

Really doesn't seem like a contest at all since FF14 is an MMORPG.

Now if it were a regular RPG... then Sony probably would of one... but then again i'd just be worried the multiplat shoe was going to drop.

I'm sorry, but another Mario doesn't win an E3. I bet you I can tell exactly what going to happen. Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser, so Mario comes to her rescue. He travels to different worlds only to find she isn't there. Then he finally gets to the right place, beats Bowser and saves Peach. And he does this all by jumping on Goombas

Bringing out Project Trico aka The Last Guardian, an exclusive from Rockstar, FFXIV exclusive, GoW release date...that trumps EVERYTHING. Not to mention Resident Evil PSP, Metal Gear PSP, Gran Turismo PSP,and  FFVII PSN. When people on here try to say who "won" E3 they always refer to PS3 only. But this is Sony, and with the combined announcements for both the PS3 and PSP, Sony easily won E3 this year.

A new Mario, or a new Zelda, or a new Metroid will never ever ever win this event because..it's a Nintendo console. What else do you expect? Otherwise Nintendo would permanently win E3, because they always fall back on those franchises

Yes yes, you hate Nintendo.  It's all very boring already.

Sony wins for you because of a bunch of stuff we knew about already, an MMORPG that will probably come to the 360 anyway, and then a Rockstar game.

I mean... nearly every title your talking about... is a legacy title.  Making your point kind of silly really.  I can see disagreeing with the outcome but to suggest it isn't the case because they were legacy titles...

What is God of War 3 for example?  It's a silly arguement.  The point is nobody was expecting it so soon and none of it was really known for this generation since Nintendo usually goes 1 a generation with Mario Platformers.

No...I hate Nintendo *now*. Instead of giving me a new Mario...give me a new IP dammit.

And it may be that it was stuff "we knew about", but it's still better than (drumroll please) a new Mario. M$ shows us MGS: Rising and Natal...doesn't matter, Nintendo showed us another Mario. Sony showed us The Last Guardian and unveiled FFXIV and in depth gameplay footage of Uncharted 2....doesn't matter, Nintendo showed us another Mario. Do you see where this is going?

I bet at E3 2010 or 2011, Sony and Microsoft will show great stuff, and people like you will say....Nintendo showed us another Mario/Zelda/Metroid/whatever....so they win by default. I'm sorry, it doesn't work like that. And referring to "what we didn't know about"...do you think this new Mario trumps FFXIV and Rockstar's game? I mean, we didn't know about those games, and they aren't established (I wouldn't consider FF MMO "established")

Meh besides Trico, which hopefully is coming this year i was rather let down. Motion controls suck, no thanks. Agent is obviously really far off. FFXIV is a joke, release 13 and vs. please then talk about 14.....and i dont own a psp and still wont, it look scool but its teh same PSP underneath and i dont need a bigger epeen so it still doesnt appeal.

I guess if you like and own and play PSP this was hands down THE BEST conference this year just based on MGS, RE, GT, LBP, AC and video and new model.....but seriously? i dont want an announcement on games coming out in 2 years i want to see at least something from the game....we couldnt even get a GT release date, at least GOW is March.

Color me unimpressed.....cool for the headlines, announcements and epeens, but the substance isnt there. the big announcements, sans PSP ones, wont have any effect or reality for at least 18 months.

Trico updated trailer alone though made me very happy i must say.

OH FUCKING HELL.

THEY DID THAT LAST YEAR AND YOU ALL COMPLAINED.  In fact most people still complain.

Don't give me that whole ""I want new Ips a boo hoo hoo.""  shit because seeing the how your all acting over the very blantant ripoff of the motion controls  and eyetoy this E3 your all very content with NO new content.

Most the games we saw were ALREADY ANNOUNCED OR SHOWN BEFORE AS WELL or in Rockstars case, none at all.  But I guess thats cool because I don't like surprises like I dunno a developer whos known for some of the best ation games ever working on Metroid,  A sequal to one of the best games this generation, a return of an abscent solid RPG series.

Seriously, most gamers don't know a good thing when they see it.

Official Announcement -PSPGO Officially Confirmed and priced It was already officially confirmed a few days prior in Qore

-and filthy rumors laid to rest about how it would work. It will play EVERY game, and it will not be replacing the regular PSP. And it will come in white, as shown by Kaz's white psp go. Awesome- I agree the white one was sexy

Official Announcement -Gran Turismo PSP 800 cars tradeable, 30 tracks with 60 variable track layouts. -exclusive Was rumored for years

Official Announcement -Metal Gear SOlid PSP-exclusive This is big for MGS fans only

Official Announcement - New Resident Evil -exclusive This is big for Resident Evil fans only (That includes me)

FF7 on PSN for both PSP and PS3 Confirmed a few days prior

Official Announcement - R* Agent (said to have same impact as GTA3) -exclusive Having GTA3 impact is an opinion

Official Announcement - FF14 MMO announced -exclusive Is about as important as FF11 (Also it's only console exclusive)

Motion Controller to keep up with expanded audience (really seems to be the only one that will see an actual release) Kind of late to the party on this one (It won't be as relevant as the Wii Mote)

Official Announcement - Mod Nation Racers -exclusive Microsoft showed this the day before and called it Joyride (They didn't show the customization but mentioned it)

GoW demo shown, GT5 (looks freaking ridiculous) High point of the conference (Debatable whether GT5 was in-game)

Look at all these announcements

what you just did can be done to any announcement ever, you just made everything subjetive,  "OH Modern warfare 2 is good if you are into FPS", "wii motion plus is cool only is you are into casual", "oh look they are all using optical media like sega did in 98 how lame"

@BMaker11, It isn't like you would purchase a Wii if they released the new IPs you want. They have been releasing new IPs but I suppose whatever Nintendo does won't satisfy you. It isn't like Nintendo cares to have your business anyways since they have gained far more consumers to easily replace you. If you don't like the direction they are at now then you probably never liked their direction. You may claim you used to like Nintendo but I highly doubt that. Anyways, just stop trying to pretend you want to like Nintendo.

I actually agree that the PSP had the best showing, and Sony had the best conference, but the PS3 had a relatively miserable conference, unless you like MMOs. That is just my opinion.

I'd say it was about a tie between all 3 companies, with the 360 and PSP making off like bandits.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

yay, me and zen agree!

I couldn't understand everyone ignoring the PSP. HUGE! Even if those names were preferred on the ps3, that doesn't take anything away.

360 also did very well. Lots of nice stuff, Halo, motion stuff (certainly interesting to say the least), Alan Wake and many others.

Unless you live in japan.  The PSP has being dead in the water for years.

Showing support for it now (when they clearly havent over the last three years) just shows how Sony don't know where there going.  Put support into the system that NEEDS it, the PS3.  Not the handheld that cant be saved.

Dead in the water for years? DO you live in Japan?

T've taken Japanese for 3 years now and everyone I know from Japan says psp is big in Japan. Not only that but they are releasing a new monster hunter game on the PSP, which will sell like crazy.
