I still say no to motion controls.

As I said in another thread

Actual Controllers>>>Motion control. Why?

1: Look at Keep_the_change's sig...need I say more? Okay

2: What if you are disabled from the waist down? Does that mean you are barred from some games because you can't move?

3: I'm sure everyone has a mah-hoo-sif living room/area they can use Natal in.

4: I play video games for hours on end...I don't want to be out of breath after every 5mintues because I'm jumping like a moron. I often have marathon sessions of PES at a time, does this mean I would need to be as fit as a footballer just to play?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I can sense there will be a lot of hypocrisy in this thread!

And I sense there will be lots of generalizing people and assuming they're happy with motion controls on their console.

I don't like it with Wii, didn't like what Sony showed.  I simply don't prefer motion controls, no matter the console.

Pretty much sums up what I was going to say.

Much more eloquently as well.

Thats why I said standard control option.

not for everyone, not for every type of game. But it is now accepted by the whole market.

Motion controls are a nice option for developers to work with.

That being said i like my standard controller.

That I can agree with, and I'll also agree that the waggle argument will die down alot because there are some who simply had the argument because they dislike the Wii and not because they disliked Motion controls in general.  But I disagree that this announcement puts the waggle argument to rest because nothing has changed for someone like me who just doesn't like motion controls regardless of where it is.

...

Just once more for old times sake:  LOL teh waggle!!!!!1

What is waggle actually referring to? Is it the mapping of a motion to a generic on screen action?

What do hardcore and casual mean? Same answer.

For some, any kind of motion control is waggle, for others it's the rapid flailing which some developers use to replace repeated button mashing in quick time events.

Personally, I hate the term altogether. I prefer more specific terms like gesture, flick, and the aformentioned flailing.
