But....MS have gained MGS!

Yes and that's awesome for the 360 but I believe it's a hack and slice game like ninja gaiden.  Raiden was never a stealth charater like Snake so it will not have the same feel of the main MGS series.  That's how I feel about it.

Sheesh.

If you are a PS3 fan, be HAPPY that you are getting cool games this year, multiple of which are already out. There is cool stuff to keep you busy. Be happy with it. Cool exclusives also.

If you are a Sony FANBOY, note these things:
1. Final Fantasy 14 is a Massive Multiplayer Online game. Verses 13 is still your normal JRPG exclusive you are waiting for, and there is no announcements yet for it.
2. The PSP Go is $250 to launch. ACK! Come on, repeat after me, ACK! So, are you going to buy one at that price point? Feels like the PS3 announcement of price, to a lesser extent though. And speaking of the PSP, Sony seems to be a bit distracted trying to get it to hold onto marketshare, competing against Apple and Nintendo in this front.
3. The next said REAL MGS adaption is for the PSP. No mention of Rising, and who knows when that is due out. Kojima is tied up in doing the next Metal Gear that follows what was in MGS3. Looks cool, and fills in the storyline. How many more of these "fill in the past" titles does Kojima have with Snake?
4. No release date for Gran Turismo 5. Since you have Gran Turismo set for the PSP this year, I would say 2010 for GT5.
5. You do have COOL PS3 exclusives, and other multi-console games, coming out this year. Be happy with that.
6. God of War 3 misses the 2009. Pushed back very much like Gran Turismo 5 is set to.
7. No price point or release date set for the PSP motion controls.

All and all, be happy as an owner. As far as system wars go, ask if the PS3 has enough to turn the tide this year. I personally think not enough this year. And who cares who "Won" the press conferences or E3 anyhow. These "win" contests end up being spun by fanboys to their end. Each side can say this and that. What matters is what consumers have to say.

I will be putting other points in another post on how I believe the marketing suits have taken over. WAY too much producing products that respond to exclusives on other consoles.

A surprising highlight from that press conference was the motion control demo, some truely funny moments.

Of course the Hannah Montana announcements stole the show hands down.

yea the crowd loved a lot of the stuff XD they really went all out for some of the announcements XD

I also liked that jack took the piss out of himself.

It was a awesome conference. Also seemed very relaxed and laid back.

Has anyone praising FF 14 even played FF 11? Meh...

New PsP titles are great (hope they are not download only) would love them for my GoW edition PsP.

1. Its a Final Fantasy exclusive. If Xbox fanboys can hype receiving a multiplatform game then Sony fansboys should be able to celebrate getting an exclusive game, regardless of whether its online or not.

2. Who really gives a f**k? Its not the PSP2, it has no second joystick, it will fail. However what fanboys can be excited about are the numerous titles announced for the PSP coming out, including Assassins Creed, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, and MGS.

3. Has anyone said exclusive yet? If they don't say it at the E3 announcement its not an exclusive.

4. 2010 for GT5 does look likely, no argument there.

5. We are.

6. Unfortunate, but MAG Uncharted and many multiplats still coming this year.

7. Are people really gunna buy a PSP motion attachment? Why not just wait until PSP2?

They just needed to announce GT for this holiday...
