MAG is a persistent online war game. It means the battle is going on constantly and when you login and fight the good fight you are doing what you can to help your faction's odds.
I find that concept amazing. All the time that you fight, you are engaged in mini battles that is part of a wider war that is ACTUALLY happening.

It is better to die on one's feet

then live on one's knees
