Forums - Nintendo - NINTENDO WINS E3 for me.......I'm sure for MANY people

Honestly Seece, Nintendo had many more surprise announcements than Microsoft and we all know that surprises is what wins E3. The conference wasn't perfect and I felt that they were pushed for time but weigh up the two conferences..

Of course it's all opinion and we should disect it closely following Sony's own press event but I think Nintendo did sneak ahead of Microsoft just because of the double whammy of Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M right at the end of the conference. Pretty huge ending if you ask me and remember Microsoft won last year due to it's huge ending. It's all about surprise because surprise creates buzz!

Nintendo wins for games.

Microsoft wins for general entertainment system in living room - they've done it by following Nintendo's lead, but lets be honest, they've done well. I really think this might push the 360 out into a more mainstream audience.

Nintendo may actually be forced to copy Microsoft copying them with this camera thing!

I don't get it though ... Microsoft announce 5 massive exclusives, (Splinter Cell, Halo Reach, Forza 3, Halo ODST, Alan Wake + MGS:R) and a shit loads of other stuff and Nintendo win by announcing 4 massive games?

Yes, Mario is a nuclear weapon. Its existence alone shadows all other mortal beings and because there are 2 mario games and yoshi well your pretty much fu---ed.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I think Nintendo wins for Galaxy 2 (Cammie said it, this never happens twice in a gen.) and ofcourse the bitch slap of Metroid.

This is the key, surprises. We all bitch and moan about Nintendo secrecy but look what we get, genuine shock announcements.

First of all, let us get this one little fact out of the way: Nobody "wins" E3's....there is no score board, no trophies, no achievements, nothing! So let us move on from this attempt to make this into a contest.

Second of all, both MS and Ninty's conferences were great for what they did. Microsoft announced games that we pretty much knew were coming for a long time (though MGS: Rising was pretty new and exciting), only now we have seen a couple of new videos with some gameplay (or the same if you have seen them online) and then they made their surprise announcement with Project Natal. Project Natal seems to be a prototype technology with not only minigames but also new aspects of controlling your console. The technology is new but is still unclear on exactly how traditional games can be played. Only the future can tell us this but Microsoft did an excellent job in creating hype and announcing this tech.

Nintendo had their own fantastic conference as well. Not only did they announce core games made by the third party, but they announced new games that we haven't even heard of...whereas MS announced Alan Wake, MW2, Splinter Cell, MGS: R, etc., Nintendo announced NSMB Wii, SMG2, GS DS, Metroid: Other M - games we haven't even heard of! - and much more! I think Nintendo did pretty damn good on their own...not to mention announcing and giving help to third party games in their announcements.

And to say Nintendo failed because of no Zelda Wii or Pikmin 3? That is just stupid, period. We already know it is coming...a video proving it exists isn't going to make it come any sooner. In fact, people will just ask why it isn't coming in now (like G4TV asked regarding SMG2). And second of all, lets watch the Sony conference to decide who won it all.

@seece

its the e3 hype it happens to everyone, when fans of one company's conference pass by and it does well, they go crazy.

You should have seen me two years ago..

Its fine to say "Nintendo won E3 "FOR ME"" because a Nintendo fan is obviously going to love best what the Nintendo stuff, and the same goes for Sony and Microsoft.

People really need to be unbiased when picking a winner for E3, and its stupid to say either Microsoft and Nintendo have won E3 without Sony even having their conference yet. You win E3 by announcing MASSIVE games *cough* Zelda and shock announcements, FF13, MGS:R, Project Natal.

Natal was neither a shock or a massive game.

"Specific Console" fans can't be excited about anything without the other two factions trying to come in and piss on the parade - damn haters!

Fixed that for you, it happened during Microsoft's presentation, now Nintendo fans suffer the backlash and PS3 surely to follow afterwards.

Personally I thought the presentation was very good, admittedly I don't play on my Wii much but I can see a lot to be praised in what they showed.  Was a little bit surprised there was no new Wii Zelda but other than that no complaints.  Of course as I've posted in the past I game most on my 360 so I'm biased towards it's games and hence why I disagree with the OP on which was the better presentation.  One thing is for certain, as a owner of both consoles, I enjoyed both of their presentations (unlike last year).

Nintendo E308-utter disappointment
Nintendo E3 09- Epic win

Nintendo had a good conference, but the first 45 mins were boring whereas MS was awesome fromt start to end. Nintendo had a great finish, but MS won this year.
