Forums - Gaming - More Gamespot Bias

1. I completely agree that the 4 player co-op, forge, and all the other things Halo 3 offers are not frilly extra features that don't affect the gameplay. these are some great reasons why Halo 3 is getting some of its really high scores.

2. It is annoying when one great game (Metroid 3-- seriously one of the best games I've ever played and I didn't even like Metroid Prime) get criticized for something and then another gets praised for the same thing but meh, it doesn't affect the game in any way at all.

I completely agree with you.  It's annoying when one game gets praised for the exact thing another game got bashed for.  I also agree that MP3 is a freaking amazing game, and Halo 3 absolutely deserves it's 9.5.  Yeah, reviews don't stop a game from being amazing, but they do change peoples' opinions about games that they have never played.  I hate when people tell me Metroid Prime 3 doesn't deserve above a 9 then site the false reasoning in the Gamespot review, where they didn't even use the advanced control method...

I've played both and I can tell you Halo 3 is better than MP3 just my opinion, yes a whole point or maybe more.

Considering Gamespot ripped Blue Dragon to shreads I find it hard to believe that anyone could call them biased.

I mean, according to Gamespot MP3 = Warhawk.

They aren't comparable. They are different styles of games entirely. You may enjoy Halo 3 more, but then I doubt you enjoy lengthy adventures with lots of puzzle solving... that would be your gaming preferences talking, not the quality of the games.

Read above. They aren't a comparable style of game. A better game to compare MP3 to would be Zelda. It's the adventure game standard, and Metroid Prime 3 surpasses Twilight Princess in every way. Considering Twilight Princess was already a 9+ game, that's saying a lot. It also far surpasses the previous two games in the series, both of which are rated higher due to unjustified reviews by Gamespot and other review sources who's scores are counted in the total like... Yahoo Games.

Their reasoning for MP3 "It's a sequel and it doesn't deviate too far from the formula of the other Prime games. This makes it worse!"

Their reasoning for Halo 3 "It's a sequel and it doesn't deviate too far from the formula of the other Halo games. Best game of all time!"

If you are going to try and pass yourself off as a credible review source at least show some damn consistency.

i completly agree--you cant fault one and praise another for the same thing and not show some level of bias

Halo3 should be rated a full point higher then MP3, its a better game in every way possible.

You haven't played the freaking game.  For the love of god man why do you even post if all you do is troll without making a single intelligent or relevant point?  Is it really satisfying to you to shoot out random nonsensical crap in every topic on this forum about games you know nothing of?

That was a rhetorical question right?

i do agree they are bias and there alwayzz sticking for microsoft games and console...............i dont look at their rateing as any value i think they get a bit too excited when reviewing 360 games like a pre-made mind setup on them and when ps3 and wii its a pre-made mind and just playing to the negatives to when really there isn't anything there or its not what they say it is..........i have notice in recent times...................its sad but whatevaaa...........

Most fans of both halo and metroid are going to convince themselves a game is fantastic whatever it's like, much like people will buy an artists album no matter how shite it is.

I personally am fed up with boring, dull , repetative walk round picking up weapons FPS that are all the same as each other blah blah blah etc etc etc.

I neither like metroid or halo, I've played them many many times before in the form of other games (although I may buy metroid becuase the control system is so much better with this type of game on the Wii as I discovered with RE4)

Still, if you polish a turd long enough I guess you can convince people it's worth buying.
