I like my games loud and generally play games after the wife goes to bed so headphones solve that nicely.  It's even nicer that they're surround sound wireless head phones.  ^^

Because my reciever doesn't accept HDMI.  And I'm not going to use my TV's crappy speakers.

Hook your console via HDMI to TV and TV to sterio via optical out. thats what I have.

Reliability, free online, better games

Um, ok, if my TV had optical out.  But it doesn't.  What is so hard to understand about certain people's needs?  Not every TV has the exact same outputs as others, and not all recievers have the same outputs as others.

I had already switched before the PS3 was even released since Australia sucks for release dates. However originally I was against Microsoft joining the gaming space but they have brought something to the table and that just makes Sony try that much harder for my dollar. I since sold my Xbox and went to the PS3 because FFXIII, MGS4, GT5 and LBP. However I think Microsoft are really trying to kill Sony off (makes sense they are a company about monopoly) and is really bad for consumers. It started with them giving large amounts of money for games that dominate on the Sony platform. I know FFXIII was delayed because of Microsoft and have never been impressed with this tactic they have used. I want Sony right now to catch up and overtake just to keep that balance inorder. I will not have the gaming industry turn in windows (random number).

yes, and its really amusing for him to talk about the quality of another company in a thread that also deals with sony...who do infact make some of the lowest quality products in existance.  for example... 3 tries and they still have not made a reliable console.
