Forums - Gaming - What would it take for you die hard Sony fans to switch over to Microsoft?

I have all 3 and prefer the PS3 for pretty obvious reasons. Rechargeable controllers, bluray, quiet, free PSN etc.

I'm glad I have a 360 for some Fable 2 and Mass Effect. I'm also loving EA Active on the Wii.

You're on my friends list on the PS3.  You should add me on your 360 and Wii, too!!  You're one hell of a Street Fighter player, and one mega leet dude (even if you are a bit of a geek)!

Nothing would make me switch to be honest. It's a matter of loyalty. I'd rather quit gaming than ''Jump in''.

I don't understand this mentality.  I was a die hard Nintendo fan, but when I saw the Dreamcast, I bought a Sega console.  It was awesome.  I've owned every Sony console since the PS1 and the 360 is my first foray into Microsoft territory.  It's an amazing piece of machinery, too.  Why would you want to short change yourself, or like you said "Quit gaming"?  Is playing Metal Gear with a 360 controller that much worse than playing it with a DS3?  In the end, they're all just plastic and silicon.

The Cell is made of antimatter.

XD I don't go online with the 360 and Wii (friendcodes XBL fees you know the deal). Trade in your 360 copy of SF4 for the PS3 version. The online isn't gimped like HD remix and you can use the Sweet sweet PS3 Dpad.

I have a lot of respect for both the 360 and Wii but I would simply not buy anything else than a Sony console. Like I've stated, it's a matter of loyalty towards a brand. I'm not hating on the other brand or anything like that, it's just a mentality that I have. Playing a MGS game on the 360 just wouldn't be the same thing to me. Sony has never let me down and they will always be able to count on me as a consummer.

Also, I just don't have the kind money to afford another console and I'm not looking to buy another one. If I want to play Wii exclusive games or 360 exclusive game, I only have to ask my friends who own them.

@ the ''J man''

I'm not sure who the hell you think you are to judge me like this, but the video game consoles I decided to buy are seriously none of your business.

I already have both but prefer the PS3 a little more. They're virtually equal but only one of them has The Cell.

-a way more reliable/robust system
-a more quit system
-free online whilst maintaining it's level of service
-all downloadable content associated with your gamertag only, and an option to activate a console to your gamertag if you switch consoles and in the process deactivating the previous one, the PS3 does this and this gives me greater control of my digital content regardless of what happens.
-Blu-ray built in only for movies or an add-on for thise movie purist.
-true separation of exclusives from PC and the 360, if it's exclusive to the 360 then leave it on the 360...this is a key factor among others that keeps away from the 360, the fact that these exclusive go to the PC just means I'll get them for the PC.

change all of the above, and you got me buying a 360.

I guess I can understand that.  With so many games on the market for all three systems, it's a little overwhelming to pick the ones you want.  No matter how many games you buy, there's always the feeling that you're missing out on something.  I know it's easier to just pick one system and support it (*looks at wallet and cries*).  But I promise you, if Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all exploded tomorrow, I'd be picking up a Fisher Price V-Smile console tomorrow!  Video games for life!!

I only wantt to play Fable on a X360 (and Castle Crashers), so there's not really much to tie me over. The exclusive range that Sony has, is what is keeping me within the PS3-camp.

I've had a Wii but couldn't find anything to my liking aside from Zelda and SMG (after which I sold the console).

Currently own, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS and decent PC.

Reason not owning 360 is that despite its great game library, with above systems I felt I'm pretty much covered all I need.  Though some games exclusive to 360 gets me interested, not yet to the point where I would spend $200-300.  The games I am interested in are Lost Odyssay and Duels of Planes Walker.  But with Free Online, Region Free Gaming, I felt PS3 is currently sufficing my needs as HD console.  For motion control console wise, Wii is doing alright job, but haven't had played it for while.

So to me, it's basically Natal + Hardware upgrade i.e. the rumored Xbox Natal would do it.

Natal > Wii (motion technology-wise)

360 hardware upgrade >= PS3 (computational & graphical technology-wise)

This will make 360 the console of choice for me.
