Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo broke their promise *Or did they?*

Remember when Nintendo stated that they would not release a new accessory after WM+, the Balance board and wiispeak from last year, for at least a while. I believe they said a year or so.

However, just now at the Ubi conference they announced a new motion camera accessory.

So is it breaking of their promise (from nintendo)?

Maybe not since it was Ubi that announced it first?

Now essentially the Wiifit+ i believe has to incorporate the camera somehow and i wonder what games nintendo will incorporate with this. However now that there are two usb ports used in the back of the Wii with Wii Speak and now the camera.

Is it too much or just another add on?

This was ubisoft's not Nintendo.

WiiFit+ uses WM+ not the camera. Its ubisofts camera and they wouldn't make it work with its biggest rival, wii fit.

I agree that it was Ubi's doing not ninendo's unless nintendo shows off the camera in their conference tomorrow.

I think we are approaching too many accessories if there are any more announce for the Wii after this camera.

Yes i agree but since its on thier hardware the camera would be open to them to use.

Nintendo said they would not release another accessory, and this is not them releasing another accessory. Technically even if they made games that supported it as long as it wasn't them releasing the product it isn't breaking the promise.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

This is no different from all the plastic guitars that get crapped out each year, really. This has nothing to do with Nintendo, as least as far as I can see.

Or its like the Microphone for Boogie. I mean, nobody remembers that game, or that peripheral, the fact that it was basically voice chat before Wii Speak.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It would actually be a brilliant move for Ubisoft to make their camera to work with Wii Fit+ and only packed in with their fitness game. That way when the 20 million+ Wii Fit owners want to move on to Wii Fit + (or atleast some of them) they will have to buy Ubisoft's fitness game to use all of the features in Wii Fit+. Not sure if it is going to happen but it would show Nintendo's support of third parties and would garner millions of sales for the Ubisoft fitness game (which I still can't seem to remember the name)

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

what is scary is that u can use the mic from boogie with the rock band games as well. im excited to see what hte wii has going tomorrow. after seeing the stuff fro ubisoft themselves it looks great support for the wii and its hardcore games.
