Forums - Gaming - Natal: Playing Is Believing

It will be years before this technology comes close to reaching it's potatial. I can see it being included with the next xbox in say 2012. Untill then it will play a minor roll as a tech showcase.

I personally would want to use a controller with it, so it's not a complete solution. Patience will be required with this one it's called Natel for a reason.

Guys, I thought you all heard Peter say that there would be a closed-door presentation. Go watch it again, he said it right at the end of the demo at the Microsoft Conference. o_O

And what I meant by "it was not acted out" is what if we hear about it from those few lucky people and they say that it really works?

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Peter did talk about the closed-door presentation. What's worrying me about all this isn't the tech in itself but how they are going to market it and when.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

^Yes he did say that.

OT: De ja vu...I remember so much of this same stuff being said about the Wii before its launch. Huh.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

We will see.

I'm trying to withhold judgment until we get to see how well this device actually works, a release date, pricing, and software. Pricing and software being most important.

If they can pull it off then great and I'd really like to see it in action in a more in-depth play through.

This DOES have the POTENTIAL to destroy the wiimote. (In terms of what it can do). The technology is inplace. But the most important part will be Marketing, and developer support, and bundling it with fun games that all people will want to buy. I agree if M$ fails to get a good sized install base and developers then it will fail.

But lets reserve judgement for when it comes out (and im willing to bet that it will)

Long Live SHIO!

You guys do realize she was flailing about because of the game design, right? If there was only one ball flying around, she wouldn't have been trying to hit all of them. Just like if some guy wasn't trying to emulate a drummer, he wouldn't be flailing about like that. The camera actually responded very well to the paint actions and the girl playing the ball game.

Another point people bring up is the twisted avatar that happened. This is obviously caused by some glitches they have yet to iron out. Look how the Wii solved the skeletal system via motion controls problem. Make the appendages floating blobs, that way they just don't have to worry about it.

Lots of criticism for a system that still has a code name.

Although I doubt Milo will be everything that they promise, the project has been in development for around 5 years. The technology behind it is a lot more than a simple conversation bot with fancy graphics.

Good news Everyone!

I've invented a device which makes you read this in your head, in my voice!

It does look pretty sweet, but I'm not getting my hopes up. We all seen what happened with the PS EyE.

Yes I know, this is much more in development. But until I see some good games coming to it that actually look worth playing, I'm not going to buy in to, not for one bit.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.
