I'm surprised... I'm not a PC gamer, but I thought Valve takes a time to make sequels, or games for anymatter. One of my friends, who's a PC gamer, said he was upset and thought EA was involved in the quick sequel.

I'm most excited that it's in Nawlins.

I think people should wait a little before being upset. If it were most any other studio, they could be plenty skeptical but it's Valve.
Most of the grunt work has been finished from L4D and now they're just improving and making more maps. The trailer they've shown looks good so far and no reason to assume it will be crap.
I'm not saying it can't be a quick cash in, I'm just saying it probably won't be since it's Valve and they always do quality work.
That said, I'm surprised by the announcement too, I expected a somewhat quiet announcement of two new maps, not new settings, new look, new characters, new boss zombies, and massively improved AIDirector that can dynamically change the level.
According to Valve the new tech they have could not be incorporate into the old game. They have completely re-vamp the Director AI engine. It suppose to now incorporate dynamic change to path and may be even weather.
Anyway, if you feel like you are getting rip-off then don't buy it. If the original game worth $60.00 (I got it for $30.00 and so far it way exceed my expectation even when I am LTTP). I have nothing I want this holiday after Forza 3 so this game will do fine.
I just watched the trailer. The graphics look ten times better than in the first one. I think I'll actually get this.
But it will be interesting to see how well this game actually sells, especially with that petition with 30,000 signatures on it.
Might be buying two copies for me and the wife for system link and/or XBLA. The splitt screen frame rate blew chunks.
It's just that simple.
Its so sad people can't just leave it alone. Big deal just buy if you like the series so much. Now people start crying if they want the DLC they were promised, its not the first time promises couldn't be delivered.
