So many PS3 fanboys in this thread. Oh well, it is to be expected when an innovative product is made by a competing console. I just wish they could accept this instead of trying to downplay it's potential

i talked with a few of my friends who are 360 fanboys. they have no intention of buying that thing. and frankly, i cant blame em. this may be innovative but nobody can see it on a console like the xbox, how do you expect to play an fps or a tps.

You not owning a 360 instantly sets off alarms that your making stuff up.

lol, yeah your right. i should have known you could read my mind and know exactly who i am and who my friends are. oh and me not owning a 360 totally means my friends dont exist right? sorry i must have been mistaken.

Well you don't own a 360 and could probably care less about it and your in a microsoft discussion thread saying nobody cares about it.  The chances of you not trolling are at 3%.

i must be mistaken, i dont recall saying i could care less Ms and the 360, nor do i remember saying nobody cares. im just wondering why not owning  a 360 means that i, or anybody by the sound of what your saying, can have an opinion. or friends that dont go to this sight. its also funny how im apparently trolling since i dont agree wiht you.

Where did I ever say that I am excited about it?  I really could care less unless something big is announced for it.  I DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS.  FRIENDS ARE EASILY MADE UP ON THE SPOT.  NO, F@@@ IT.  MY 10 FRIENDS CALLED AND TOLD ME YOUR A TROLL.  IT IS PROVEN.

dood, take a chill pill

I'll say this in every thread about the issue...

Time will tell if it's ok. At a first glance, I can not imagine any implementation that interests me besides maybe a boxing and sword game. I can't imagine playing an adventure game with it, or a FPS, or something like that. It all depends on what MS and devs bring out in the future.

But I have to say that the first serious approach is awful. A virtual boy? Are you kidding? Call me retarded, but I think it's completely sick. The idea of a virtual doll or creatures or whatever (Tamagotshi, Nintendogs) is something I don't understand, but a boy?? The only thing that comes to my mind are lonely kids talking to a TV, or disorientated adults speaking about their problems with a virtual kid... or even a paedophile interacting with it. Really, it's out of my mind how they think something like that is... somehow nice, or beneficial, or whatever.

Seriously, people... this is not meant to be a device for controlling FPS type games... but who knows, they have a wide and open future where they could make it compatible.

This is directly targeting the Wii, casuals, and the 60% of families in the US alone that do not own a console. As they stated, the controller is a barrier because it is a piece of technology that can potentially turn off many individuals. Pushing buttons to get actions on screen is not always the easiest thing to get used to. What this does is remove the need for a controller so that everyone can participate in it's games. All you need is your life experience and the ability to move.

This is about bringing in the people who don't even have a Wii because the notion of a controller at all is intimidating to them. If you think these people don't exist, you are naive and are clouded by the fact that you do know how to game on a controller. You grew up with this and learned on this, but for many many more that is not the case.

I can't say if I will buy it just yet as they don't have many details released, but from the games they did show, and from the potential I can see for this device, I am definitely interested!

the only thing that I can see it being really cool to use for is, well, for the GUI on the 360, move your hand with a pointer tracker like a mouse and voice activate commands. very intuitive for the menus, but for games, would be some hard design choices for sure, it's not exactly a new concept no matter how good the tech is, my hype lvl for this thing is just wayyyyy too low.

You don't have much of an imagination for being dahuman.  I can imagine all sorts of applications especially non-gaming.  This device could be used for a variety of applications from practicing a virtual instruments to excercise.  Very general I know, but the real ramifications are how this evolves gaming controls as a whole.  If you are ready for virtual 3d imersive games then get ready, because I believe that this is the first step to reaching that goal.  Can you name one device that actually reacts in real time to the 3d movements of your entire body?  I don't know about you guys, but if you want to play with a controller in your hand the rest of your life then have at it, but i could not welcome 3d virtual gaming fast enough.  This looks like the first big step in that direction, and regardless of what console/s you own you should embrace this technology and get ready for the future.

i think its very cool , so much better than the crappy eye toy or the suspect wiimote. m$ definitely upped the ante on motion controls. :)

I'm always chill, but being an ass comes to me naturally.  Just caught 10 flounder and some trout, couldn't be more relaxed.

Can you imagine putting on a set of VR goggles and then using this thing? It would be amazing, and there is no doubt it has more potential than just about anything that any of the consoles has out to date. It isn't just about gaming, there are so many things that this thing has to offer, we don't even have a clue yet to what it could do.

The more I think about it the more I like it.

it's just a device, the reaction is done from software, i see a lot of disaster coming in just like the start of the Wiimote, devs are only starting to somewhat get the Wiimote right after 2-3 years, I'm just being realistic, it's not so much about imagination.

whoa dude, calm down, its not worth getting this upset over it. im just gonna end this and say forget it. i dont want you to freakout anymore than you already have. i just dont like it when people who display the opinions of friends outside of this site are automatically trolls. i know friends can easily be made up but its kinda pathetic to call those people trolls when you dont know if their friends are real or not. thats not exactly fair. so pal, just think before you accuse someone of trolling.

Natal is the beginning of the technology on the Xbox...So many of you people are freaking blind...it's for casual gamers...blah blah blah...that's like the famous quote...why would you ever need more than 640 KB of memory. M$ spend a TON of money on this in R&D, and some of us have been trying to point that out from their financial reports. This tech will really come into it's own for the next console, but in THIS console it's a great frist step to show how the tech can be integrated into gaming. People have to remember that M$ is an iterative company...boring, but iterative.
