Forums - Microsoft - NATAL is the SHIZNIT!!!

It is funny how the tables have turned....Wii owners writing this tech off as nothing other than just an "Eye Toy rip-off" while 360 fanboys, who once before were vehemently against the Wii and their motion controls, now praise Project Natal as the "savior" of the 360 and will crush the Wii and their future sales...I thought hardcore gaming and traditional controllers will save the industry?

Seriously, people... this is not meant to be a device for controlling FPS type games... but who knows, they have a wide and open future where they could make it compatible.

This is directly targeting the Wii, casuals, and the 60% of families in the US alone that do not own a console. As they stated, the controller is a barrier because it is a piece of technology that can potentially turn off many individuals. Pushing buttons to get actions on screen is not always the easiest thing to get used to. What this does is remove the need for a controller so that everyone can participate in it's games. All you need is your life experience and the ability to move.

This is about bringing in the people who don't even have a Wii because the notion of a controller at all is intimidating to them. If you think these people don't exist, you are naive and are clouded by the fact that you do know how to game on a controller. You grew up with this and learned on this, but for many many more that is not the case.

I can't say if I will buy it just yet as they don't have many details released, but from the games they did show, and from the potential I can see for this device, I am definitely interested!

this i never said i was going to definatly buy it but i am really excited about what this technology is capable of. Everyone here seems to be really negative towards it but we have yet to see how awesome this technlogy will be. Lets wait to reserve judgement until we see more of it but the technology and the potential are the SHIZNIT!!! Oh and as far as WM+ this goes above and beyond that. 1:1 control should have been in the wii from the beginning and isnt that much different than what you can do on the wii now.

dood, this chick scared me shitless is all I know. I mean, come on! I don't want to play my games like this man! god!

ROFFLE!

I will have to start using that gif.

Anyone else think it's funny how the Wii fans are saying that the 360's motion control is a 'novelty' and a 'gimmick,' whilst hastily shout down anyone who makes the same accusation against their console?

Guess what, even Wii fanboys can be stupid :D

A smart Nintendo fan would laught at Xbox going more casual than the Wii :)

^^LOL. Now that is exercise. It would have been better if they had only 1 or two balls flying at her at one time. That way it might take some actual mechanics to try and win.

Natal is going to revolutionize the way we game. I'm sorry, but Nintendo and Sony will not be able to surpass this. The games that will be able to be created with visual recognition at this level are going to be amazing. It's amazing that this was done so precisely with one shot, but the Wii will force you to purchase an extra feature with your controller. The price point is perfect for people to be able to buy 360's and get into it! Genius!

is this third party or first party? could bring trouble for ms like blueray did for ps3.

Can't wait for some hardcore games using it, like the one in my new signature :D

They may, who knows. Frankly, MS didn't work on this project, a company that specializes in motion control using cameras for PCs.
