Forums - Sony - Sony is dumb

Sony doesnt have hugely deep pockets (Now the most shallow of the three?) and cant really afford to just buy exclusives like MS does.

Yep. I generally agree. Sony should have stepped up massively prior to launch to ensure their first year was much, much more impressive than it is now.

2008 had better be a much better year for Sony game-wise, or else I will have to change my stance on them catching 360 this gen.

Sony did plan to have their biggest releases come out for Holiday 2007. The problem is that every one of those big games got delayed.

1. roadkillers saying THIS O_O?

2. Buy a 360.

Why buy a Xbox 360 when I just bought a PS3. That doesnt make sense. Plus I dont wanna spend what 350 for a console when I could wait and spend it on games. Seriously and I hardly spend enough time on my PS3 because I dont have that much time. The weird thing is I have about an hour today so im good.

I think Sony made a comment about how they dont wanna buy games for there platform because that would be bribing. Seriously I think thats the dumbest comment ever.

It's just another BS Sony PR blunder.  Sony bought their fair share of exclusives when the original Playstation launched, and look what happened -- it worked!  Their sales skyrocketed and they dominated the industry for 10 years.

@HappySquirrel, I love my N64, but Nintendo did mishandle third party support, and it wasn't because they were trailing in sales.  The N64's launch was absolutely massive, and they just about caught up to the PSX.  I'm not saying buying up third parties would have been a good solution (nor would it ever happen, Nintendo's playbook is too bottom-line-centric), but they sure as hell made it easy for Sony.

roadkillers a Wii fanboy confirmed. Only one Sony mod remains.

Now in all seriousness, I agree with you, but this is a consequence of what Sony has done since start of the PS3-saga... what they did with the PS3, development, pricing, marketing, etc. It's like a big snow avalanche going bigger and bigger.

The direct reason for your complain comes from the userbase. Even when people say Sony will pick-up, or wait till 2008, 2009, 2010, etc., it doesn't has the userbase NOW. The most important thing for developers to create games on the console is not power, or brand, or whatever. It's all about userbase.

As of now, I don't see a light under the tunnel for Sony in this matter.

@ssj

Bioshock isn't up in the air. The developer said they have a deal with Microsoft. Saying Bioshock is coming to PS3 is similar to people saying MGS4 is coming to the 360.

Edit: Check out the trailer for Valkyrie Of The Battlefield. Its really good looking.

Cool yesterday people said, their is a PS3 mod look to roadkillers.

Now I understand why the Wii fans told me they liked you.

Um....maybe we could get a list of MS first year games, and see who got the better deal for the first year? I mean, if I remember, 360s first year wasn't great either...in a way, PS3 might actually profit from the 360 having been out, seeing as most of the games developed for the 360 are multiplatform...and might never have been put on the PS3 if the 360 hadn't come out earlier. My point is that the 360 didn't have a similarly powerful system out for a year before it, and if it had, it would have gotten a lot of multi-plats that had been developed for the previous system and were ported to it to make more money.
