Forums - General - The result of believing that abortion is murder

I'm not for abortion and I think late-term abortion is sick.  However, is it murder?  I think it's dangerous to think that it's murder because it can cause people to do the following.

Ironically, it is highly likely that the legalization of abortion has actually decreased violent crime.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Impact_of_Legalized_Abortion_on_Crime

"We offer evidence that legalized abortion has contributed significantly to recent crime reductions. Crime began to fall roughly 18 years after abortion legalization. The 5 states that allowed abortion in 1970 experienced declines earlier than the rest of the nation, which legalized in 1973 with Roe v. Wade. States with high abortion rates in the 1970s and 1980s experienced greater crime reductions in the 1990s. In high abortion states, only arrests of those born after abortion legalization fall relative to low abortion states. Legalized abortion appears to account for as much as 50 percent of the recent drop in crime."[3]

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Terrorism, pure and simple. I don't give a fuck what anyone's views on abortion are. This is political murder, and your views and mine aren't worth a damn to this man's family and friends.

And the terrible thing is that this will be forgotten in just a few weeks, if not days. A gun nut murdered three police officers in my home city just a few months ago, but as with all right-wing terrorism, it's forgotten.

the execution of a murderer

Lol, I remember reading about that on "Freakanomics".

Not trying to be racist or prejudice, but how religious are poor black women, and their stance of abortion? Because even if abortion is legalized if they're not willing to not have kids (or more than intended) when they're not in the appropriate economic or circumstantial situation (no dad, for e.g.) then it's meaningless if it's legal.

The slaying of the 67-year-old doctor is "an unspeakable tragedy," his widow, four children and 10 grandchildren said in statement. "This is particularly heart-wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace."

His murder has meant pain for 15 human beings who have feelings and emotions.

Nice work, you "Pro-life" piece of shit.

Why don't they just stand outside the clinics and offer to adopt the baby?
