Forums - Nintendo - Are you satisfied with nintendo's e3 2009?

I don't want another main Mario game yet. Galaxy was perfect, but I want to play Zelda or any of their big franchises before another Mario.

I'm 99% sure we aren't getting the next Super Mario game for a few more years.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

Zelda: OoT and Zelda: MM came out within 2 years of each other. And Wind Waker 2 1/2 years after that.

Waiting 5-6 years between main line Mario games is kinda silly anyway.

Besides I think this Mario game is going to be more focused on co-op/splitscreen play for a fresh kind of experience.

^^ how would that work? you would have to wait for the other person to beat the level if you're both playing.... or maybe you'd ruin a puzzle by accidentally looking at the other person solving it.

nah, i think mario (main series) is better as a single player game :)

I think they'll make separate challenges for the multiplayer.

Super Mario 64 DS already sorta did this:

If they did like a new 2d/3d mario platformer for the wii that would be amazing for me.

that seems more like an extra minigame. but ya it's possible, but not in the main part of the game (the platforming part) maybe like the video instead :)

Well that's just the beginning. With Wii Mario they could flesh that concept out a whole lot more.

Lets face it too -- multiplayer on Wii = bigger sales. Mario Kart is one example. You'll still get the 1-player goodness I'm sure.

As great as Mario Galaxy is, I found when I would show it to friends they would want to go back to Wii Sports or Guitar Hero so more than one person could play.

I can see Mario Party 2 DS this year. Mario Party 9 next year. Remember Hudson now has to work on Mario Party for both the DS and Wii.

Even if Mario Party 9 was 100% finished, I don't think Nintendo would release it. Wii Sports Resort + Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics and Wii Fit Plus would be overkill and splinter sales too much.

A Mario platformer makes much more sense.
