Before the website looked really dark and emoish with the black on black theme that was going on but now with the Organge&Red backdrop the site looks pretty nice , i'm assuming that it's temporary because of the big "E3" logo that apeared with it but I think it would be sweet if the background stayed , I'm dreading the return to all black.

Yeah keep it.

Even now I'd prefer a lighter colour for the very back like green or blue, but definitely don't go back to the black.

I don't know about the E3 background in particular, but something orange would be great. Maybe something more in line with the site's new look.

I would even prefer an advertisement for the background theme - in other words - have the next/newest big game featured in the background, similar to what some current sites (notably IGN) do.
Either way, I do love this orange explosion going on, looks snazzy.
