Persona 4 was announced at 5 July 08 (anime expo). Game released 9 th december 2008.
And yeah Soriku I know but they don't really care about Userbase much I think. They even released an game on the original xbox who had like 500k userbase in Japan.

Yeah, announced for Western localization. The actual game was announced way, way before that time and released in Japan on July 10.
Also, I agree that the userbase argument is meaningless. Atlus will choose the system that they believe will attract the highest amount of their PS2 fanbase that is possible.

Persona on DS would just be strange.
It would take a lot more altering then Persona PSP will.

Isn't NISA the same? And didn't they just announce NIS's next game? :P
You know is gonna be on the Wii.
Why? |
Because it makes the most sense. Why would they put it on the PS3 when the Wii has a bigger userbase? Also Atlus has no game on the PS3 as of right now. They have 3 on the 360 and 4 or more on the Wii.
...iirc

Actually, Atlus has only developed for the Wii so far (Trauma Center). The other games were all developed by other companies and published by Atlus.
So they are going to announce a JRPG in a western conference and not in a japanese one like TGS? Where is the logic in doing that?

It was a new IP, not a sequel. I just don't see a new Persona game being announced at E3.
i still couldn't decide which next-gen console to buy :/ i'll wait until the Persona 5 announcement.p3/p4 are awesome!
