Forums - Nintendo - Would you give up on Nintendo

Honestly the hyperbole is thick in this thread. I am sorry to say this, but many of you must not be true gamers. To put it another way a lot of you are full of shit. Nobody buys a console to merely be satisfied with three games. That is sheer stupidity, and a colossal waste of cash. Most of you were just so rabid you didn't even bother to gauge where your tolerance truly lies.

I suspect that most of you have already conceded as in bought another console to satisfy all your needs, and I ask this question. Without that other console how would you feel about your gaming right now. Would you be able to make due with the Wii alone. Honestly I couldn't, and have basically abandoned the console. I needed good mature games.

The only way I'd give up on Nintendo is if they stopped being Nintendo. As in if they stopped releasing their good franchises and focused only on their "Wii series" games and the like. Could we even still call them Nintendo after that?

Lukily that's not going to happen :)

I'm perfectly fine with just owning a wii. Between actual wii games, the VC and WiiWare I couldn't be more satisfied. Is that so hard to believe?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Oh well, that's you then. I have been a single console person since the SNES, and I don't have any more than 20 games in any console.

As I said before, I felt extremely miserable during the GCN era due to the low social acceptance of that console. You just couldn't just chat to everyone at school/on social occasions etc. about the games that come out. It's awful to be alone in this world, really.

Nintendo fans should be open to be as many of the things Nintendo throws out. Otherwise they are nothing but plastic fans.

I'll never give up on Nintendo. So what if they don't show any games worth a crap to most people? I've found plenty of games on Wii I enjoy. I picked up a PS3, and even with 2 years of games I missed out on, I only found two that where fun. I don't think it's Nintendo that has a problem.

Speak for yourself...how you feels about the Wii may not be how everyone feels about the Wii. And what is a true gamer? One who plays "mature" games? I have played a lot of Japanese hentai games (very mature) in my days, so I must be the most true gamer in the world XD

Wii is the only console I have bought this gen, but I have full access to a PS3, which I have bought a couple of games for. But you know what, Wii is still the console I like the most, and it has the most games I want as well. It's a matter of taste.

Plus, it sounds as you see buying a second console as abandoning the first. For me, buying a second (or third) console only means that I have access to a wider game library. That is a positive thing for me.

OT: I don't know what would have to happen for me to give up on Nintendo. It's a strong word, give up on. I think they would need to abandon Gaming for me to give up on them.

the ds is everything wii wished it could be.
so, I will still cherish nintendo and it's amazing 3rd party lineups (on ds)
