I think it's too soon to tell.

I mentioned battle systems and cover systems etc first. Storytelling is very important as well though. Really I was pointing out the intangibles of games which really are neccesary for a gamer like myself. The manner in which I am entertained is different. Gameplay is what i set out to emphasize. Not graphics. |
then you should get a Wii as well, it does have some very amazing game play, it's not all shovelware like a lot of the people who are anti Wii would believe. on a side note, cover system, yes, I remember the good ol' game that is Time Crisis, oh yeah that brought back good memories, and people say Gears brought that into shooting games =P.

TheChalkblock,LOL! at your sig image!Whats d best 3rd person shooter on the wii?RE4?Wii still lacking in dat department but Wii're(we're) starting 2 get games in many other nice places.NMH2,Madworld,etc are filling up dat space 4 DMc & GOW type of games.Metroid Prime trilogy,Ghostbusters & COD:MW2(neither is exclusive 2 wii),The Conduit & The Grinder, etc filling up our 1st person shooter space.Wii also have more on-rails shooters than other consoles. We got Monster Hunter. And who would want to miss out on a game as unique as Boom Blox Bash Party?
You know what, unlike the last gen, where d PS2's library completely owned dat of the competition, the wii's competitors have such nice libraries dat I envy people like the OP.I'm missing out on games like Infamous,MGS4,Prince of Persia,Gears of War,Left for Dead 2,Bioshock 2,LBP just 2 name a few.Even though getting a gaming PC would meet my HD needs. However,I'll loose that play-together-around-the-tv thing dat I love.I only get to watch my friends play their HD games but unlike last gen,I can't borrow their consoles!

PC gaming I dont like it, console gaming imo is the best experience. Not that many quality games come out on the PC so why bother really...

I actually thought about buying a Wii sometime soon on saturday. I was playing punch out in gamestop and it was really fun. But I caught myself eventually. That's what Wii games are made for, to hook you instantly and while that works on almost any type of gamer, not every type of gamer would remain interested for long. I think buying a Wii would be a waste of money for me, because I know it would get very little playing time, seeing as most games on the Wii aren't made for me.
A new gamer, or a leisure/party gamer would remain interested in the game for a long time, but I know I wouldn't. I usually like deep compelling storylines, and difficult dungeons with difficult bosses. Shooters, with very tight controls, and precision shooting. RPG's are my fav genre and among the most complex and there aren't any quality rpgs on the wii.
At least for me, I see no reason to purchase a console which doesn't cater to my personal gaming needs. I'm aware the Wii is getting more of my type of games soon, but most of those games aren't as great as they're 360 and ps3 counterparts so why bother?
The Wii implemented a very cool innovative control this gen. But this control is implemented in very simplified games. The reason for that, is that it was designed for those types of games. It isn't precise enough to acheive the comfort level I'm accustomed to with conventional controllers while playing, say a shooter or complex platformer like Zelda.
I'd buy the Wii when they come out with an awesome Zelda. It's my fav franchise possibly, maybe tied with 2 others. But Ocarina is definitely my fav game. The first Zelda to come out on the Wii almost made me buy one, but my friend got it first and he let me play it and it was ok...me!....calling a zelda game just, ok. The reason was because the controls spoiled my fun, it just doesnt work for advanced games like that.
