PSP is a console, a handheld one. I didn't hear him say 'new', only 'Metal Gear Solid'; could easily mean Portable Ops being released on Store. The iPhone thing is completely true. The rest... Well, it's dependant on your arguments, which I tried to counter.

Anyway, I would certainly not be surprised. A new game was the first game that popped into my mind when I heard him say 'Metal Gear Solid'. Portable Ops is probably (but not for sure) too old to be mentioned. Besides, two characters from different periods seems a bit special so it might indicate 1) two periods in one game or 2) two games set in different periods. Two periods in one game would probably fit better for PSP, as it would encourage shorter periods - ideal for PSP. Two games in different periods... Well, that would make a PSP game pretty much confirmed; Kojima couldn't possibly be making two MGS games for PS3.

I guess it makes sense that they could incorporate Big Boss and Raiden in a PSP game.

It's really only the second, Portable Ops + was like an online expansion. There was also Metal Gear Acid, which was a very different style of game.

Actually most rumors say that there are 2 games.

I honestly don't see why most of you guys are all hung up on Metal Gear so much. It is a decent game but nothing more. I dare say it isn't even that special.

I would much rather play Uncharted, Halo3, Either Gears, Little Big Planet, Call of Duty or a list of several other games. I am not being a fanboy here or whatever I guess to each his own.
