Forums - Nintendo - Phantom Brave pushed back to support Japanese language!

They should have done it since the beginning, but yeah, I aprove the delay. To improve the game and to a better release window.

Am I the only one who doesn't prefer Japanese voice overs? For games like Ninja Gaiden they're cool because it adds to the atmosphere, but for games like this?? No thanks.

NIS games usually have good English voice work anyway.

On the contrary, games like this (niche, anime looking games) are the ones that need it the most. I mean, for big games like MGS sure, the english dub may work better, but here, in a game that looks like an anime, japanese voices are the most fitting. That is, unless you watch anime dubbed.

While I agree that, based on Disgaea 1, english VA of NIS games may be good, the option to switch to JP voices is always preferable, specially in a JRPG (SRPG, in this case)

I've never met a JRPG fan that doesn't watch anime at all...I don't mean watching every release, but not a single series?

Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were the only anime's that I've ever cared for I never really gave any other a chance though, so I don't know if I would like them or not. I'm more of a movie guy than a TV guy.

I think I can imagine why you'd never watch another anime

I'm a huge JRPG fan, I've played like 90% of every JRPG ever, and I've never watched a single anime. A few episodes of DBZ, most Studio Ghibli movies; that's it. I don't give a tinker's damn about anime, or Japanese language tracks. I for one can not fathom the appeal of anything being voiced over in a language you don't know.

Go ahead and argue, I have all the counterarguments ready to go.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

This is a great move for those who want the original language!

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

Seems like... wasted money.

How little did this game cost that it sold so low in Japan yet they're adding features?

But hey prolly worth it. Marona's voice can get old.

Good for those that want it.

Every NIS title I've played so far has had amazing English voice-acting that I would probably consider to be the best in the industry so I can't imagine why I'd want to play an NIS game in Japanese. Still, it's good for those who like that.
