Play 4 Vs 4 in Fifa 09 on the PS3 and you'll see that they haven't given up on local multiplayer.
Also, compare how many local multiplayer games on the PS3 and 360 you would ever consider playing and how many on the Wii you would consider playing. Taking out all those mini game compilations and you'll find that the Wii has the edge, just. (So no real difference at all)
it's true that Wii is the only true console this generation
it's the only one that offers something really different from a pc for example

que? Not really understanding what point you're making here :P
As for local multiplayer games I play on my Wii vs PS3, Wii has it hands down, as for games I play online on Wii vs PS3... Wii has it again lol, I play Smash and CoD a ton online, as well as GH, and I rent Strikers and BW2 every so often just to play online. PS3 has the stronger library of online multiplayer games with a good bit of modes, but for me personally the games I play online on PS3 are things like Little Big Planet and I try to play Riddick online but there are so few players :\

Nah, pretty much straight-forward that time. :)
And that is true in a way, kicking dickheads asses is awesome, but it is FAR from the maximum for the PS3 and 360, of course wwith them you have higher def games, bigger games, best 3rd party games, online chat both text and voice, and did i mention 3rd party support of epic proportions? yeah...
RE5, SFIV, SCIV, Dark Athena(A game you've played on PSN), GTAIV.... the list goes on and on, the best 3rd party games are on the HD consoles and thats not counting great exclusives i could but won't mention...
Point across deny it all you want buddy, people who own all 3 or 2 will more then the likely choose there HD console to game on the most while the Wii just gets its "Dust" on or on hold for parties, otherwise its an "extra" good to have console In my Honest opinion among many others who've said the same thing.
I'd like to see a poll here on the chartz who plays which console more FOR THEM SELF (No family horse shit or teh casualz) Im willing to bet its PS3 or 360 and Wii doesn't even come close as being most played/ main console of choice TO be Played. :P

If you weren't so obviously being sarcastic, I would have to say that has got to be, GOT to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard on any forum, anywhere, about anything.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
I completly agree with the thread.
I only own the Wii so I am not going to give some biased opinion against it, but this si a pretty ridiculous article. The reasons why the Wii is selling so well is because it started out cheaper (the others are catching up), they are targeting non-traditional gamers (women and older adults), and above all it has an extremely innovative control scheme. It is not because it is a "real" console.
For the record, a console hooks up to the TV, is played with a controller (which has a few buttons and joystick/numpad for control), and can be played from the couch. You are simply trying to redefine the "console" in a way that excludes Sony and the 360 while including the Wii. Real crafty, maybe you should be a politician.

1- You started this "the only way x console is enjoyed to its maximum is "y" way" so i don't see why you are complaining, with a Wii you have Motion sensing, lots and lots of awesome old games in the VC, and did i mention Nintendo games of epic proportions? Yeah...
2- The Wii has Nintendo games, which is the main reason of why people get it, just look at the chartz and you will see it.
3- Ok, now you say things like if your opinion are facts, where's the link where it says that people who all consoles will prefer the HD? If that were the case, wouldn't at least 1 HD console outsell the Wii? I know many people who have both consoles and prefer the Wii.
4- Polls here on VGC in those situation are as useful as community scores, to see that it's better to see the software sold and the play time.
