Of course it's possible but sony came in and made a deal of some sort with the team, I would love to get a chance to play VC in the future, it would be a waste of Sega's time to port it on the 360 considering the fact it's SRPG and the game sold pretty bad on the PS3

470,000.  Almost half a million without a second of TV ads.  If that's selling badly then there are quite a number of 360 RPG's that actually were advertised that must've lost their companies loads of money.

Outlawauron picked up like 5 copies himself...Come on Torillian give us something more concrete!

So your saying the reason this game sold 470,000 copies is because outlauron bought 5 or 3(w/e) copies of the game....Niggah phuleaz.

I think a modern version of X-Com game based on this engine would be awesome. Instead of 40's-50 esque style, we would go with 60's to 70's style artwork during the height of UFO craze.

If X-com get remake this is how I imagine it would be.

BTW, Valkyra is awesome, I wish I have more time to play with it, but I got sidetrack into playing Sacred 2.

ewwww, sidetracked away from VC for Sacred 2?!?! gross.. :p       j/k, sacred 2 was a lot of fun at first, but after an all nighter with some friends, we realized how repetative the game was and haven't been back to it since... :/

the game engine is called "canvas engine" it was developed specifically for ps3 hardware.

of course they could port it to 360 but with the ammount of speech and superb audio in game i reckon 4 dvd`s for the like for like game.

Do you know what compression is? 2 discs is what it would take mst likely.

I'm sure he does know what compression is, and I bet a lot of devs know more about compression than you do. So quit tossing around "do you know what compression i?" when a PS3 game comes up that isn't on the 360

OT: unless what some above posters said about it being a custom engine is true, I don't see why this game couldn't be done on the 360. But saying "Please, explain me why we don't have this game in the 360" is something you should already know. Or, should I go the next step and say "Please explain why Star Ocean is not on the PS3." or "Please explain why MadWorld not on the PS3"? Let exclusives be exclusive, and if you want to play them, buy the system they're on

I'm sure it has nothing to do with engine work, or what is or isn't possible on the 360.

Sega made the game ps3 exclusively in the first place because 1. they were already working on a ps3 engine due to another game - Initial D: Extreme Stage, which was released only in Japan, and 2. it's in a genre that sells predominantly in Japan, so why hold up a ps3 version just to port the game to a console that has sold horribly in Japan.

While they may have pondered a later port, they probably decided against this, because late ports generally don't sell near as well as the original release, let alone a late port to a console that is not popular in the main region for a title like this.

The game has garnered almost half its sales from Japan, and it still sells decently in Japan, while in NA it's practically impossible to find since GameStop's GameDays sale a month ago. Sales are now dry outside of Japan.  A 360 port would probably sell under 100k lifetime. Would that be worth it?

-MS was offered the project, they refused.

-The engine is a custom PS3 one, making porting hard.

-There's some sort of deal in place, with Sony getting the game when MS refused, and add the Sony-sponsored anime to that.

MS never refused the game.  The Sakurai Tensen team simply started the project on 360 way back when 360 devkits were the only things to be found.  Then development jumped around a bit (some PC work, etc.), and the game eventually landed on ps3 alongside the Initial D game.

I remember reading that somewhere but can't find it, gah. If I do, I'll post.

Another source says that SEGA preferred exclusive PS3 development due to the far bigger PS3 userbase in Japan, and the 360's lackluster sales back then.

They quoted the same blog post as Kotaku. It all goes back to that blog post. :P

Probably cos not a lot people would buy it.

Sorry but the game looks totally generic imo

Looks can be deceiving. If THIS game looks generic (with its unique visual style) then I'm going to laugh when I see you saying that some same ol' same ol' shooter looks awesome :)

This game easily ranks up there with the best games of this generation. This game should get a 360 port, so that 360 fans can say the same

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Low sales IMO, it already had low sales on the PS3, so on the 360 would be even lower considering the RPG user base blah blah blah :D
