Forums - Gaming - Which is the better game, RE:4 or RE:5?

I have a 360 here collecting dust. I don't have the same amount of time I had before to play games, but when I do, it's usually for the Wii. In fact, only for the Wii. DS is also collecting dust, but will get major usage whenever Mario and Luigi 3 hits the States, but that's another topic for another time. Anywho, busy with Punchout (And now Majora's Mask, FINALLY Mr. Nintendo and your wasted VC content!) I happened to see the case for RE:4. Maybe my favorite game of all time. That's saying a lot, being it's non-Nintendo and was on the PS2 as well. And I had the urge to play it again. Very few games, if any, draw me in like RE:4 did. Beat it several times, unlocked most of the cool toys like infinite launcher and that mobster gun. It's been like this since the game came out. First on GC, then Wii.

Speaking of Wii, that version being superior to all others. The controls for that game, it seems, had the Wii in mind the whole time. What, like 2 years before the Wii came out? The fact Leon stood in place to aim while shooting, lent itself so perfectly to the game, again it was like it was built for the wiimote the whole time. So while I'm itching to play the classic, I know the new game is out. I have a 360, and I was thinking "Why not?" From what I know, the new game uses the old control style. Which I loathed. Even if it's been updated, could I go back to a non-pointing controller for a RE game? Any opinions on this? Honestly, if they updated the controls somewhat for the new game, I may take the chance. But if it's like RE controls from the old days, I'm staying the hell away.

Resident Evil 5 is an awesome game, but Capcom had to make some changes to make that game accessible to two players of different skill sets. The "puzzles" are stripped down, and the bosses are pretty generic. As a game, I have to say Resident Evil 5 is better. As a Resident Evil game, I have to say I very much prefer Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil on the Gamecube will forever dominate my memories, though.

RE 4 is good but RE 5 has better graphics and that makes it a better game

if you dig the Wii controls for RE4, you are gonna hate RE5, a lot, but you should rent it for a week non the less and play it with a friend, don't buy it.

The Wii version of RE4 is the better game, between the conventional REs (control-wise) RE4 and RE5 are the same to me.

if RE5 goes on the Wii, then we'll talk.

RE4 is ten times better than RE5.

I find that RE4 is the better. It just seems less generic and more, well, fun tbh. If you like the Wii then the controls on RE4:Wii edition are really great.

GOD NO! NO!!!!!!!! graphics was a big part of RE5 and it just won't pan out if Capcom is gonna do a half assed port again, say no to RE5 on Wii! I don't want inferior ports out of Capcom again!

RE5 beats RE4 through its mercenary mode alone, never mind the main game, co-op or verses, all of which also beat RE4 in every way..

you are just saying that because Jill is in it and the chicks look hotter in HD.
