@spydie, even though its horror, it will still use the unreal engine which is amazing.

I know the ue3 is amazing. I have unreal tournament 3 for the ps3 and the game is gorgeous. I just don't like horror games ;)

UE is far from being amazing:

- it's ugly and produces very specific type of look in games where it's used (it's probably easiest engine to guess when you look at game)

- it gives microglitches on pcs

- it can't even run properly on ps3 (how many times have we seen ue3 based games getting delays due to it ? )

- it's not even that fast considering lack of advanced effects.

Considering the sales success of Gears, I foresee only one way in which Sony could end up with an Epic exclusive.

That's awesome (and huge), if true. We'll see.

For all we know they could be showing off the new game Epic is making that will be published by EA. Remember the partnership announcement last year. It could be anything

Why are people saying this won't happen?
Microsoft doesn't own Epic, they can do whatever they want.

The Xbox 360 has a higher userbase, Microsoft is more willing to pour in a lot of advertising and the differences between a PS3 and Xbox 360 game in terms of result are marginal so they have more incentive to give this hypothetical game to the 360 than PS3.

So the PS3 should get no 3rd party exclusives....and the 360 should get all of them, is what you're trying to say?

OT: More refined than the Unreal Engine in Gears 2? Ouch. That's the 360s most graphically intensive game and it's already getting usurped by the PS3...again

How many notable 3rd party exclusives for the PS3 do not come out of Japan? I can't really think of at all that many.

Epic is different from other 3rd party studios. It gets a lot of its money from licensing out the UE. Gears showed what the UE was capable of on the 360, and from that tons of other studios used the UE. Epic now need a game which can show off the UE on the PS3. This is why an exclusive is more likely from Epic then from other 3rd party studios.

Unless Sony has a contract with Epic, I expect this to be timed-exclusive rather than outright exclusive.

That doesn't really mean anything Squil.  You're still saying 360 should get all exclusives, basically.

And combating a rumored exclusive with 'it's likely not true and more likely to be exclusive to the competition' is trolling.  Except you won't get banned because they're too selective with enforcing trolling.  Kudos, ninja.

Ignore all the TBA games...I think your wrong......As far as producing a speecific type of look goes.......
