IRL you don't continuously seek out the enemy, you go back to your post and stay vigilant. abandoning your post is like the number one wrong thing to do in the armed forces.

Oh they go back to their post..After a long while.....Oh and let's in MGS you knock out an Enemy....you move on...And unless you back track you wont see them anymore...In SPlinter Cell if you knock them out they come after you once they wake up

How do they know where you are?

They Don't...They warn others and sound Alarms....Since you jack into their networks you hear them through your telecom....So patrols intesify! and they run around looking....If hide well they won't find you
