Forums - Nintendo - I don't care what anyone says the Gamecube was amazing.

The problem with the gamecube is that it couldn't keep up with the XBOX and PS2. PS2 held the crown for wide variety of games (the casual games if you want), XBOX came second and GC third. It had some of the good multiplatform games and had some great exclusive games but that just wasn't enough. Not to mention that of the 3 its controller was the most cumbersome.

Nintendo learned its lesson and instead of competing directly with the other two went out on a limb to do something truly new.  Thus they have flipped the cards and are now in first.  I personally don't really like motion control for most games, I would have rather seen them come out with both a motion controller and a separate traditional controller so games could have both kinds of control schemes or the developer could choose which one to allow in their games.

Nintendo order of consoles in my books -
1. Snes
2. NES
3. GC
4. N64
5. Wii

I thought Nintendo Gamecube was kickass.
Why you ask? Cause it had plenty of bloody action games...

Eternal Darkness, RE remake, RE Zero, Metal Gear Twin Snakes, RE4, Killer 7, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2. All AAA titles and all titles that didn't try to pretend the world is one happy place.

Then why aren't you a Proud Owner of one?

Hehe...sold it when I got the Wii. Still have the Waivebird controllers tho.

I sold my PS2 back then and I sold my xbox1  6 months ago... I really should update my list.

Ha, screw purple. I had a black one. If for nothing else, Eternal Darkness made owning a GC worth it. I still fire up a few GC games on the Wii.

The Game Cube is so cute. <3 One of my favorite console and two of my top 3 games are on that console. It's too bad the GC didn't get the support it deserved. Not talking about the general public only, the 3rd party developers as well. I have some great memories with that console. It's probably the console I've spent most time playing. Games like Super Smash Bros. Melee and James Bond 007: NightFire were games that kept me and my friends playing for hours everyday.

The GC had plenty of third party support.

no system has given me as much enjoyment as my GC. end of.

ok, not end of, the controller wasn't too cumbersome and the load times were much better than ps2...and the games rocked.

Henshin a gogo!!!!

Hope you're being ironic.

In case you're not: "Why? Cause it didn't get laser problems after two years? Or is it because it had an awesome controller?".

Done :)

Just watched that video. I guess I'm becoming a wuss in my old age, because I felt a little misty eyed watching that footage. I also saw a couple of games I need to buy from Amazon or the VGChartz store. I think I'm going to "favorite" this video on my youtube page, too. Thanks for that trip down memory lane.
