Any Zelda game. To me its a mediocre adventure game. But people seem to love it.

Same with Mario nowadays. Back then (NES/SNES days) it was legendary, but I fully believe if another company made the exact same game as Mario but with a random different character people would say it sucks. I believe its people's loyalty to the best selling series ever that gives it its good reviews.

I kept away from Mario platformers until this generation when I bought MK64 on VC, and then Mario Galaxy.

Both are awesome games, and I certainly don't have any loyalty to the character, or any nostalgia regarding old Marios.

The main ones that come to mind:

Halo series: nothing special in and FPS and highly overated/overhyped. (haven't played the strategy game so I'll keep my mind open on that... and it's made by Ensemble so it's probably good!)

GTAIV: It feels like a step down from San Andreas

Resident Evil 4/5: Horror? What horror? Actually, a general complaint about most "survival horror" games these days

Little Big Planet: Just doesn't gel with me

3D Mario games: Don't dislike them that much... just prefer the 2D Mario games

Assassin's Creed

Holy shit was that game repetitive.

I wouldn't mind story driven games, except I still haven't played one I actually felt had a good story. My last attempt was MGS4, and I thought the story was so hilariously bad. Genetic super spies fighting giant mech robots: that's deep stuff!

Everyone else is welcome to their own opinion, of course.

Out of curiosity, have you played Shadow of the Colossus or ICO? They might be your cup of tea.

On topic:

Gears of War 1/2
Resident Evil (Emphasis on 4 and 5)
Oblivion
Fallout 3 (I did enjoy the first two, though)
Halo series (Although I enjoy their multiplayer, for the most part)
Zelda OoT (Very good game, I just don't understand the praise)

It’s probably blasphemy to say it but….

Beyond Good & Evil.

Mostly because of that annoying pig.
Always giving hints when I don’t need them.
His horrible voice (I was forced to play it in Dutch, maybe in English he’s less annoying)
I tried to kill him, but that isn’t possible.
I just had to stop playing out of pure irritation.

Everyone is always praising this game, maybe I’m missing something.
I’m probably one of the very few that didn’t like this game.
