"Umm....what does an Ubisoft game have to do with Nintendo's E3 press conference?

Ubisoft has it's own conference."

If you watched Nintendo's E3 press conference last year, you know that prior to the conference, they were promising to deliver all these games to please their longtime core fans.  Then, they proceeded to open their show with a video that basically showed all these people with smiles on their faces as if to say, "We're Nintendo.  You're going to take any shovelware we throw in front of you with a smile."  Then they were acting as if they were going to unveil all of these games that would actually rival games like Gears 2 and Fallout 3 in terms of quality.  But what did it turn out to be instead?  Just a bunch of videos of pablum games like Star Wars Light Saber Duel and the big exclusive Rayman:  Rabbids 2 or 3!

That was pretty much the origin of their E3 conference being held by many critics as the worst one since the CD-I, 3DO, and Jaguar E3's of years past concluding with the ultimate time to get up and do the laundry presentation of Wii Music.

Previously, I had posted in a forum asking "What would be the worst case scenario for Nintendo at this year's E3?" that it would begin with them showing a Raving Rabbids game and end with them showing this year's equivalent of Wii Music.

Well, last night I flipped over to IGN to see their pre-E3 coverage.  And the very first game mentioned for the Wii in that article was the latest Raving Rabbids game (Okay, to be honest it looks like this one will be much more substanitive and it is being developed by the same folks at Ubi that developed Peter Jackson's King Kong and Beyond Good and Evil and not the people that developed previous Rabbids games, so it will probably be much more worthwhile than previous Rabbids games).  However, it was direct confirmation of my post about what we would see at E3 if Nintendo's worst case scenario turned out to be true, so I couldn't resist posting a thread about it.

I don't think that by itself (and since it is supposed to be better) it means Nintendo will have an E3 like last year's.  I just found the coincidence to be humorous.  If on the other hand no Mario, Metroid, Zelda Wii, or Icarus games are shown and the conference ends with the presentation of Wii Music Motion Plus instead of Kingdom Hearts 3, don't say that I didn't warn you it was a possibility and a Rabbids game would be an indicator.

We've known about Rabbids Go To The Moon for several months now and that it would be at E3. It's not coincidence that it's part of your "worst case E3 scenario" as it's something we've known would be there for a long time already.

Also, their 10 Most Anticipated E3 Games for Wii/DS doesn't even include the new Rabbids game nor was it their first pre-E3 article.

Rabbids are infecting Nintendos

3 days, chill the f---k out till then

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

You think that Nintendo's E3 will be bad, so you want to say that you know it before, but only because you think it...maybe it'll be (I HOPE NOT!!) but i don't think it depends by Rabbids.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

EDITED TO REMOVE REFERENCE TO CORRECTED TEXT IN OP.

It is funny that Kotaku and IGN have completely different takes on the game so far.  It is also interesting that you criticize it being on IGN, but don't note that IGN loves it.

Just remember that the Ubisoft game that opened last year's E3 has led to the Wii getting the only (announced) sequel in the series while Wii Music outsold Little Big Planet.

Only on the Wii can selling 2.5M to 3.0M games be considered a "failure."

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Oh well, here is some good news that I've just seen for the first time (so don't hate on me if it's already been posted) than I think already means Nintendo's E3 will be better this year than last year.

Well, right now Fragile is the one I'm most looking forward too. A beautiful ghosty rpg.

I just noticed Monster Hunter 3 on the list. I'm looking forward to that one too and No More Heroes 2, The Conduit, Tale of Graces, Fragile and

Muramasa, Arc Rise Fantasia, and the ones from Square.  Also, I'm looking forward to Kizuna too.  Still I do wish Nintendo themselves had more on that list than the casual and remake games (although

 I'm sure I'll get MPT).

Nintendo are being secretive, you understand that? They will certainly surprise us.
