I did a quick search under Community - Profiles, with the keywords 360/PS3/Wii.

And obviously this isnt representative at all. But the result was
360 = 241
PS3 = 243
Wii = 330+ something (dont remember)

To expand upon my reasoning for the original quote that was used:

Every time we have a poll on VGChartz in regards to the 3 main consoles, whether it be which one do you like more, or which game, or which do you think will sell most, etc. the PS3/Sony seems to always have about a 3 to 1 lead over the 360/MS and about a 1.5-2 to 1 lead over the Wii/Nintendo. Now I am still relatively new to this site (only a member for about 8 months or so I think), so it stands to reason that the Nintendo domination could have superseded my coming here.

It is just that recently all I see are PS3 fanboys left and right, as well as 360 fanboys that seem to try to "counter" these PS3 ones (The Xbox Man for example). It really has gotten depressing lately. I ignore the 360 fanboys, and I try to approach every PS3 fanboy with logic but it just rarely seems to make a difference.

Sadly, I don't think it is possible to have such a thriving and popular site without fanboys. They cause drama and drama is what draws big crowds. Even on the best of days, if tons of new and qualified moderators were promoted in order to clean this place up, it would eventually leave it to a fraction of the life this site has today. That life would undoubtedly be more professional and enjoyable for some of us who value intelligence, but for the rest who just come here for entertainment purposes it could cause them to be driven away....

Obviously there are a lot of Sony fans on the site, but there are also a lot of fans for the other consoles. They just aren't nearly as outspoken about everything. (No offense meant to anyone.)

There are 3X more Ninty fans so you can get banned easy when you bash the wii. Sony is 2nd highest then MS. MS forum got 7000 topics vs Sony 11,300 topics. MS fanboys are playing their games hence the highest game attach rate in the world. Ninty and Sony fanboys could be surfing this site on their consoles right now.

for the price they pay on PS3 and not having as many quality game today like the others , I think sony fanboys deserve to own every gaming site to vent.

I would say there are about 4-5 times as many sony fans as xbox fans on this site though. Sony fans bash this years game line-up all the time for the xbox.. So I don't know where you come off as saying we dominate anything. There certainly are alot more of us than there used to be though.

First you must differentiate between the vocal, the occasional, and the departed. Technically most accounts are Nintendo followed by Sony and then followed by Microsoft. That however does not translate to which camp brings the most traffic on a daily basis. The Sony camp is definitely the most vocal.

The Nintendo camp is basically spent. A year with no major titles, poor port support, and a poorly balanced library will do that. The camp was massive early in the generation, but it just could not be sustained. Most of the camp is departed. A early victory followed by a massive drought conspired to cull the heard.

The Microsoft camp was always the smallest of the three. In spite of the sales difference it is a very different breed. Remember the consoles bread and butter is online play. Factor is a large library with a lot of cheap games, and you have gamers doing what they are prone to do play a lot of games. What has not helped is the fact that Microsoft defeated Sony, and before anyone bitches please how possible is it for this to change? This camp is mostly occasional they come by from time to time, and will chime in on a thread when they got a moment.

The Sony camp is directly in the middle. The most expensive, the most ridiculed, and mired in third place. Who would have thought that would have happened. Though it seems to have lead to a massive inferiority complex. When your used to winning the fact that you are losing bites hard. Though to be honest its only a matter of time before this group too mellows out, and isn't quite so vocal. A lot of them are still screaming, because they have yet to realize the battle is over.

I actually expect the community to find an equilibrium by the fall, and move forward to actually discussing the pros and cons of games, genres, and game against game comparison. Without any dramatic shift in the next few months the deranged fanaticism should be put to rest once and for all. Everyone should accept the outcome by that point, and then the camps should just blend together. The vocal nature of some members is just prolonging what most everyone already knows. This console war has been decided. Though even they cannot drag it out for a year.
