Do you think Nintendo will let you move your VC/Wiiware game collection to the next Nintendo console?
If so, how do you think Nintendo will arrange that?

I'm sure they would. This raises the question for PSN/XBLA games as well.
Pixel Art can be fun.
Now that I think about it, the real question is whether or not Nintendo's next console will support SD cards.
Pixel Art can be fun.
If they don't, it would be a barrier to people wanting to upgrade. As much as Nintendo might rub it's hands at the prospect of selling people classic games over and over, some kind of transfer would help drive adoption of the next Wii.

I think they will. They expanded support to the DSi, and the new SDXC specification is looking pretty sexy in terms of both capacity and speed. No reason to get off the SD train.

My thinking is that PS3/360 have usernames and accounts that tie all your games and assets together.
Getting your downloaded content on the neXbox will probably be as easy as logging into your account and downloading it. Same for the PS3.
Nintendo doesn't have that AFAIK though...

But Nintendo doesn't know it's your Wiinumber. Nintendo would need you to register that Wiinumber with an account somewhere along the line.
I'm positive you will.
All virtual console purchases are connected to your MyNintendo account.
So I presume you'd just need to login with the same account and you can redownload them.
At least...I think..

You can register your Wii to your Club Nintendo account (used to be My Nintendo). Nintendo knows every single VC game I have downloaded due to my Wii being linked to my Club Nintendo account.
@tehsage, looks like you were a few seconds early on that response than me. Must have been typing it out while I was typing!
