If they don't, it would be a barrier to people wanting to upgrade. As much as Nintendo might rub it's hands at the prospect of selling people classic games over and over, some kind of transfer would help drive adoption of the next Wii.

I think they will. They expanded support to the DSi, and the new SDXC specification is looking pretty sexy in terms of both capacity and speed. No reason to get off the SD train.
