It seems that Wii Fit + is legit, then. But that doesn't quite answer the question of what exactly it is.

Prepare for an announcement about Wii Fit Plus at Nintendo’s E3 press conference next Tuesday. A trademark with an English logo for Wii Fit Plus in the Japanese trademark database.

In addition to Wii Fit Plus it looks like Nintendo may have some other surprises like Art Academy. An trademark for that title was also registered. Is Art Academy going to be Mario Paint for this generation or is it going to be a bite sized DSiWare game? BonsaiBarber is rather enigmatic too and at a first glance it sounds like something just for Japan. However, the trademark, even though it’s on Japan’s database, is in English.

Update: Like many commenters pointed out Bonsai Barber is already out on WiiWare in North America. The Nintendo trademark is likely a sign that Nintendo of Japan will publish and localize the game similar to what happened with World of Goo.

Far less editorializing. And who can blame Nintendo for wanting to do another round of Wii Fit. Hopefully it will have more emphasis on fit (workout routine) that was missing from the first one.
