I think I will try that before I go drastic and sell all my games (Im not sober anymore, and Im feeling much more relaxed about this). My system is out of warranty anyway. Is it tricky? I saw one fix online that needed a drill press . . . It's worht a shot regardless, if it works, awesome! Where is a link to it, do you just buy it and install? or do i need a drillpress . . .
The wierd thing about all this is it made me decide to buy ps3 regardless. I've really gotten my mind into the idea of having a ps3 here under my tv, alongside my 360, wii, xbox, and ps2. I want Killzone 2 and to go on it for MW2, as all my friends that cod 4, are on ps3. My xbox boys play l4d, gears 2, and halo 3. of those I do love l4d, but not like cod 4.
But yeh to the guy who said im too attached to 360, i am and i do want to play some upcoming games on it a lot. plus ive spent a stupid amount of money on arcade games, and some im barely started on.
M$ has it's work cut out for it...hardware problems are easily solved...so nexbox shouldn't have as much of a problem, but the key will be software, which suits M$ strong suit.
Usually to fix RROD you need to resolder the chips and install new xclamps. M$ cannot track you if you fix these things as nothing in the coding of the console has changed. You should be fine. The only time they can ban u is if you change something in the software

It's a complete joke to be honest. I have no warrenty on this one, so I looked online for a fix, and there is a good one. They note tho that if you fix your 360 yourself, they may ban you from xbox live. What is that bullshit? Honestly what is that? I'm so sick of xbox live rules and dogma for a service I have already paid for 13 months of. So either I buy a new one, which can break anytime. Call microsoft and pay them to do what i can do myself. Or do it myself and risk being banned from xbox live. Fun decisions to try to make 3 days from my birthday. I'm not a ps3 lover by any stretch. But if I have one, I can buy modern warfare 2 when it hits, and play online for free (my live subscription is running out, so I will need another one at the same cost as MW2). I'm thinking this is it fellas, I culd trade my 360 games and system to some store for a ps3 with kz2 probobly. And all these worries go away. Yeah all my friends are on xbox live .. . but I am just sick to death of dropping money on top of money into this thing. It's a shame really as I love 360 honestly. But the differences in library are so slight. I just want the BS to end. Anyone got any advice for me on what I can do to either fix this or what?

sorry to hear that mate. But you will be happy with Ps3.

I couldn't take it either, after my 6th Xbox 360 failed I just gave M$ the middle finger and got the supperior, B_E_L_I_E_V_A_B_L_E system. BTW, when you do decide to start looking toward the FUTURE, heres a list of games you should check out: 1. MGS4 2. FFversusXIII(FFXIII looks like crap) 3. Vampire Rain:Altered Species 4. Disgaea 3 5. GTA4, Devil May Cry 4 Tekken 6 God of War 3
Add me on PSN when you do get it. I'm ShadowbIind, with a capital I instead of a lowercase L I believe. |
What the hell are you so bitchy about? lol. The 360 has lost most of its good exclusives as well... and Vampire Rain came ut on it first as well... so... how si that related to the PS3?
I really admire your patience if your still a 360 owner after 12 faults, its a good machine but i would probably break it myself after 3rd or 4rth time.
| mrstickball said: I don't get it. You bought a USED Xbox 360 that was very old and certainly ran the risk of being a major issue. Now your complaining it red ringed? I'm suprised such a fan of the 360 wouldn't understand that. I'm sorry to hear about your 360's demise, but the fact is, we all know that older 360s aren't that reliable. With a MFG date of 2006, you know, as well as I do, that it's a very old system, and can RROD on you. My advice? Buy an arcade. Jaspers are very reliable (and you should know this). |
LOL @ bolded/underlined...
My NES from the late 80s/early 90s is an old system, still works after YEARS of play.
My SNES from the mid-90s is an old system, still works after YEARS of play.
My N64 from the late 90s is an old system, still works after YEARS of play.
My GC from the early 2000s is a middle-age system, still works after YEARS of play.
My PS2 from the early 2000s is a middle-age system, still works after YEARS of play.
My PS3 from the year of 2006 is a NEW system, still works after 3 years of play.
Under no circumstances can any 360 be considered an OLD system, nor a VERY old system as you state. The fact that you actually write something like that is fascinating...
OT: There is a reason I don't have a 360, and especially knowing about the failures, I would never buy one. "Oh noez! I miss some games that can only be played on the 360!!!". Don't really bother me to miss some games. Been there, done that... I can't believe people still come back, or even buy new systems while sending in their RROD ones. Even after 1,2,3,4 even 5 RRODs!! For me this is a huge puzzle (and yes I know someone will say: "because of awesome games, etc we continue to buy")... I guess there are plenty of "double sales" in MS 360 sales data..
