From a gamer stand-point I understand that the game is just repetitive, and that Rock Band with the World tour and the challenges provide a better game. I mean if you just look it as a game that you have to beat.
But the game has been successful to the mainstream not because of the challenge of beating the game. The game have been successful for allowing non-musicians to play their favorite songs in a manner that provides them the actual feeling of playing the music. Both franchises have left the gamers realm and have become casual flare. That is the reality. That is why the next GH and RB are going to have all the songs unlocked from the start. People just want to pretend playing the damn song. They don't want to beat the game, they just want more songs.
DLC does accomplish this, but it is limited, as most poeple still prefer buying from retail, and if you want all the songs, then it is cheaper to buy the disc.
