Forums - PC - Help my buy a PC?

Hey there! I am looking to buy a new PC (my current one is like on life support xD) and I need your help. I am looking for a decently priced Windows PC that is around ~$500. I want to browse the web and mildly game on it (Sims 3, Call of Duty 4, etc) and listen to music. I'm not looking for a miracle, maybe just something decent. I have no preference over Intel or AMD or anything like that! Also, I know I can build one for less, but I'd rather not.

Would this be a good deal?

No. That's an Intel + Nvidia combo. I don't like either of them. You don't give money to them.

You should buy a PC with an AMD CPU and ATI graphics card.

Buy this:

and get geforce 9600gt or radeon 4670 graphic card (or radeon 4770 if it's still inside your budget).

I have no experience with us shops for obvious reasons but if you get both parts from one shop they should put it together for you ?

Why? It's inferior, and has bad reviews :P

Also, why should I care what processor I get if it's a good deal? It's not like there is an asronomical difference bewteen Intel or AMD.

Oh, there's a difference. AMD are the good guys while Intel are evil.

Becouse slower CPU+good GPU makes far better gaming machine than better cpu and bad gpu.

And q8200 is quite far from being amazing.

Intel > AMD
Nvidia > ATI

Intel is the real one, the leader.
I can't wait until they release the Larabee GPU.

Intel CPU + Intel GPU = Nirvana.

LoL ? Intel integrated GPUs are pure junk which can't do anything above movie playback. Even if Larabee will be better it will be at level of entry level cards nowhere near mainstream.
