Interesting, maybe they'll bundle it with a couple of games for a while to increase value until they're ready to release the rumoured 120Gb slim.

I wonder if the community understands that this is pretty damning evidence that a price cut is not coming. The original poster made a point even if you did not comprehend it. This shipment arrives after the event, and its still listed at a four hundred dollar price point. Do we actually believe any retailer is smart enough to not slip on this banana peal? Please every price cut has been confirmed by retailer incompetence one to two weeks in advance. I am not buying that they suddenly became brilliant.
While the absence of evidence isn't necessarily evidence of absence. There is such a thing as what lawyers like to call circumstantial evidence. You may not be able to convict on that alone, but it should show you where you should be leaning. You cannot just discount something, because it doesn't suit your purposes. Unless you have some evidence even circumstantial of your own. Then what justification do you have to play this down.
I really do not understand the absolute fixation with a PS3 price cut. This just isn't very likely to happen. With a recession, Sony losing money, and the console spending its entire cycle in a deep hole, and lest we forget. Sony is in a distant third place facing competition that is profitable. This would have been a very hard sell for all involved. There just isn't any justification for one, and unlike the double slash in year one the console isn't any peril of being pushed from the market. The install base is sufficient to support first party games, and licensing revenue.
I believe this will be the "prelude to the much-expected PS3 price-cut".
80GB "limited" bundle will eventually become the $400 SKU with a "bare bones" PS3 becoming the $299.99 SKU.

Hey, hot-shot, check out the scan again. See the LTD? Yeah, that means the SKU's not going to be around for long, i.e. this news story has no bearing on whether or not there will be a PS3 pricecut this year.

You can't speculate that until you know what is in the bundle.
It could be a ps3, with (random game) and (random game) @ $400
where you can get just a 80gb ps3 for $300.
or
$350 ps3 (no game)
$400 ps3 (with 1 game)
Well Europe is getting an inFAMOUS bundle so this could be it. Either that or the White PS3, seeing as how the white controllers release early June from what I heard.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I'm sorry did Sony stand you up on a date or somthing? You seem to have an unbridled anger and vhelemence twoards them.
The op is trying to dash hopes about a post E3 price cut. But there are no hopes to be dashed. Everyone who assumes that PS3 would get a price cut assumes that it would come during the back to school/holiday season. September or october area.
So relax, take a chill pill and I'll have sony send you a text or somthing.

1. Evidence? Since when limited editions bundles are evidence of anything? Were the GTA4 360 bundles evidence of a 360 pricecut not happening?
2. That doesn't mean the price-cut is not coming LATER, as in when this LIMITED edition is out of stock....
3. lol. sorry, irreleavent and see point 2.
4. My thoughts exactly, why do you care so much?
5. Obvious, old news.
6. Oh, you mean the Wii, right?
7. Year one, that's 2007 right? PS3 SKUs reduced from $600 and $500 to $500 and $400 (and still current prices 2 years later) how's that double slash ? And the SKUs priced $100 lower in 2007 were significantly cheaper than the previous SKUs (chipset, hardware parts, BC) are you actually telling us after 2 years and several hardware revisions Sony's been unable to cut the costs of the PS3 so they can price it a little more competitely?
I think you're just playing out your own delusions and wishes, but we knew that without having to read any of your babbling.

Nothing fancy, just means each. Though I am hardpressed to think of anything off the top of my head that BB doesn't sell in 'each' quantities. DZ is a code for dozen, PR for pair, PK for package (which I guess would be used to distinguish multiple things together, so maybe BB uses this?), BX is boxed quantity, GR is gross (144), ST would be set, etc.

IT costed around $840 to produce the PS3 when it released. Now its still losing money. Around $400 dollars of the original cost is how much sony has cut. THey cant price it more competively yet.
