Many people say the Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii users wouldn't ever get a game like The Conduit because that would mean that the Wii could destroy the systems where the FPS is so popular. The truth is not everyone who play those games are "grannys and soccer-moms".
That said I like to ask and try to answer a couple questions:
- What people are going to like this FPS?
- Do those people own a Wii?
- If not will the get one for this game?
The obivous people who are going to like this FPS are:
- People who like customising the control of there FPS
- People who want to play a good looking FPS on the Wii
- People starving for a new manly type game to play on the Wii
These people might own a Wii already:
- If they happen to also like any of the other games it has
-
- there's no reason they can't also like the Wii ____ series of games
- and the Wii isn't completely devoid of good manly games like Resident Evil Wii and Metroid Prime 3
- there's also all the games on the Virtual Console
- Also, they may have one around for their friends or family to play with
If they don't have one they might buy it for this game:
- If it was advertised in such a way as to interest them
- If it was bundled with the Wii
- If they played the game in store or at a friends house and liked it
Some of these conditions will depend mostly on just how good the game is. If it a phenomenon then of course it will sell the system (provided enought copies are availble). If it's mediocre well no market could garentee it's sells.
Another thing that could affect sales are supply and demand issues. If they don't antiscipate allot of sales they won't manufacter a lot of units. If stores don't even know the game exists or are unsure of how much they can sell they may not carry it.
