Forums - Gaming - Who will win E3 and why?

I think Nintendo will win, they will announce a new Zelda or Mario.
Sony would win if Nintendo doesn't do that and if Sony announce a team ICO game.
Microsoft would win if they announce a Motion controller, but if Ninty and Sony don't do the above.

Ugh some people just don't get it. MS isn't going to have a Megaton to top FF13. Basically they will not be able to beat themselves from last year.

You wanna know what your "Megaton" will be? X-Box steals the waggle from Wii with it's new camera.

I think people are forgetting about Bungie. Halo 3 came out in 2007 and Halo ODST was only being made by a very small team. People expect that everything Bungie touches turns to gold, so any game they announce will be expected to be massive and its defianately unannounced and its definately a new I.P. Bungie is bigger than every Sony studio except Polyphony Digital at the moment, and we know what Polyphony have been doing for the last few years.

In sales, yes. But in interwebz popularity, they are about equal with Team ICO.

I doubt theres any other Sony studio that wins the interwebs quite like Team ICO, so doesn't my point still stand?

Yeah, but there's only two Miicrosoft studios whose games sell really well as well as well-- Bungie and Epic.  Pretty much everything else on the 360 doesn't sell all that well, and with an increased install base in Japan coming soon as I've diuscussed in other threads, you'll be seeing more exclusives from Square and Konami coming to the PS3 and more from smaller Japanese studios wanting to work on PS3 as well which will give the PS3 the same effect from such games that the PS2 received.

Nintendo will not announce a new Mario game because they only release one 3D Mario game per system .The last three consoles including this one have only seen one 3D Mario game released per system. The next new 3D Mario should appear on the next system. New Zelda is possible but I would not count on it appearing at this E3 show. Another casual gamer show?
The Microsoft motion control is a ridiculous rumour and its a joke and I believe it would never happen.
Sony will have lots of games to showcase the PS3 with God of War 3, MAG, UnCharted 2, GT5 and FF Versus and other games. PSP will see some good titles as well shown at E3 show.

I think Zelda is a bit over-rated. Not the game, but the weight on an announcement. It has to be a really good Zelda game, not just another Zelda game.

"Good" doesn't have much to do with it - it has more to do with it being on a console. Handheld Zelda wouldn't do it. But out of the last four main series console Zelda titles (OoT, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess), the only one that wouldn't be considered a megaton at its announcement was Majora's Mask. Granted, Wind Waker was not a positive megaton at the time, but it was what it was.

I think it's a bit overrated too, but only because it's treated as a sure thing. If they show a trailer for a new Zelda like they did for when Galaxy or Brawl were announced, it would probably be a megaton.

MS since they showed NOTHING.

We seem to be on the same page here... Majoras Mast was the 2nd Zelda game for the N64 right? haha ignorance is bliss, anyway this is the 2nd Zelda game on the Wii. Though im not a fan personally, I can't begrudge the nice fans its worth. However at the same time it really does need to be something special, it needs to be essentially THE Wii Zelda, just as Ocarina was THE N64 Zelda. It can't just be another Zelda, because that makes it a sequel. Gears 2 was probably a better game than the first, but the first was the game that really made people sit up and pay attention.

Tease.

Yeah, we're in agreement here.
