Forums - Microsoft - More 360 jrpgs on this E3?

Well we have MC II, thats all though.

PS3 on the other hand has ToV, LB, TC, and 2 new 3D nis titles. so.... yeah.... 360 is NOT the JRPG console, it just has jrpgs.

greatly improved their relations with Square even more than they did last year in order to score a Western version of FFXIII and an already in development for PS3 Star Ocean 4 as an exclusive.

What?

?

If Microsoft dips deep enough into Billl's bank account, who knows what they can accomplish?

That's a pic of Star Ocean 4 right there...a game already released..see the 4 between the kanji?

Yeah and it only sold 210,000 copies in Japan only a fraction of what the last one on PS2 did even though it has gorgeous cinemas that make me think quite a bit of money was spent on it that sales of 210,000 or 380,000 copies didn't do anything to earn back much of the money spent on its development.

I believe it started out as a PS3 game and then the same deal that landed XIII on the 360 in the West also landed SO4 as an exclusive at least so far.

last sentence is true, SO4 was a PS3 exclusive intil SE let MS money hat it..I garentee thats abig reason tri-Ace left SE

If any console will be getting JRPGs, it will be the Wii.

Yeah, but would you expect them to make their first appearance at E3 or the TGS?

You guys know Tales began before Star Ocean/Grandia right? If anything, Tales laid down the path for those games, especially SO. IIRC the guys who worked on Tales of Phantasia moved to (or formed?) tri-Ace.

RoF will be great though :P

Yes I do....Why?

You said tri-Ace laid down the ground work for the Tales series...which isn't true at all.

but Gotanda( president of tri-Ace) made Tales and if it wasnt for him Tales would be here..HE laid group for Tales and evolved it for SO

I would bet that MS has some sort of package deal with that engine. Either way, I figure it was a lot cheaper to use that engine, than to build one from scratch...otherwise, they probably would have just built it.

This is all just speculation.

LO was done using the Unreal 3 engine...What are you talking about?

I shall translate:

I bet MS has some sort of package deal with that engine. IE: They buy multiple licenses and pay less per use, than companies who buy the rights for just one game.

@Undying

OMFG, lol, you meant the battle system. LMFAO I got epic pwnd, and am exposed! D:

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

What's LB and TC?

I know of Cross Edge, Trinity Universe, and Last Rebellion.

You said tri-Ace laid down the ground work for the Tales series...which isn't true at all.

The group exclusively makes console RPGs, and is known for giving their games action-packed battle systems and deep skill systems. This trademark style began when the founders of tri-Ace originally worked for Telenet Japan's Wolfteam, and had created Tales of Phantasia.
