Forums - Sony - Well, here it is. Heavy Rain gameplay from Pre E3 press event.

Since this game is set for release in 2010 and the ambition of the game requires a lot of polishing im happy with things as they are at the moment. If its short and as good as I think it will be, I say there will be no harm in waiting until its a $30 release before I buy it.

We like to be mr grumpy, don't we :) Let's give the authors some credit.

Seriously, who said that there's a single set of inputs that is needed to have a given outcome? Take the fight scene in the video: you can see the player missing some of the events (they flash red) and being hit with an iron pipe in the ribs because they didn't dodge. But maybe in the end you can win the fight anyway... except that it will take longer efforts because you're hurting.

Technically, that would be forking and then merging again narrative paths.

As for there being one "best" outcome, maybe that's something that will bring a completionist playing the game again and again to find the best paths all the time in all the scenes, but is that different from people making no death speedruns of Super Mario?

Actually in this case part of the enjoyment of the game might come from not playing it "perfectly" and exploring the narrative twists that follow.

Well, yes you are right. Anyway the game is like whack a mole with 4(?) moles and it gives you different path depending how you hit those moles. Doesn't seem that advanced. Neither it does seem fun if you have to get the correct(Not perfect) combination of hits to get the result you want. On the other hand you can also narrow down those paths to make such things irrelevant and that wouldn't be fun either.

if you were surprised that its QTE after QTE then you are stupid and should do research about their last game. its near identical, different story better graphics.

the story is going to be rocketsauce and thats why you should play it. its like an interactive movie.

Graphics in the GametrailersHD videos are amazing.

Think the 1up SD vid really screws with the quality.

Looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait for this game now, definetly a purchase. I loved Fahrenheit.

Anyone complaining about the gameplay has obviously never played Fahrenheit.

I agree.

That said, a large number of people fans of this game, but have never played Indigo Prophecy.

They are fans because:

A. This is a PS3 exclusive.

B. Graphics of said game were heavily touted as "only possible on the PS3," and "CGI Quality."

Fact is, hardcore fans of the first game, Indigo Prophecy, should still be very excited about this.

However, fans of the game who just became fans because of the obviously touched up early rendering of the engine should be vastly dissapointed. Not only could this game be done on the Xbox 360, it could be done slightly better. None of these trailers look as good as Gears 2, or even Alan Wake(which might also be touched up renderings).

Despite this fiasco, the truth is, this game is still the sequel to Indigo Prophecy, and us IP fans should LOVE it. Most of the "fans" on this site, however, don't even know how the game will be, at all(they would probably hate it if they did), and wouldn't give a rats ass about it if it was on the Xbox 360, and in fact, would probably be flaming this very trailer right now.

Am I wrong, at all, here? Please, I require feedback if you believe I am incorrect. I must know, how, exactly, is this post not dead on?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
