My UK copy arrived today.

I haven't played it much, just a couple of levels. I have a real problem of setting the controls to either be good for movement or good for aiming, I cannot find a in-between that does both to a good enough standard.

I would prefer Metroid Prime 3 style controls but the pace of the game means they don't quite copy onto the Conduit too well.

Also, even at full run speed in options Ford is a slug, the game so needs a sprint button.

I agree with this last. I was playing Team Objective online last night, and taking the ASE back to base often felt agonizingly slow, especially since you're more or less a sitting duck (you can melee and use grenades, that's it), and you're just walking along like you're on a day-trip

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

They've slowed down your movement when carrying the ASE by design. Makes the game more difficult. Would be too easy if you could run full speed with the ASE imo. I think it's a nice touch.

I have a few questions that need to be answered before Sunday's game.

  1. Are we going to be using WiiSpeak? I have not tried it yet, so if anyone has tips for setting it up, please let me know! I don't want to be the cause of unnecessary feed back or others issues.
  2. Are we having a set game style, or just vote? Teams or free for all?
  3. If I do a "friend of a friend" request on Sunday (I have never done this before), does it still take a few days for that person(s) to show up in the Friends Roster? Will that effect the game play?
  4. To join the game on Sunday, do I need just the person hosting the game on my Friend's list?
  5. If we have (for example) 12 players, and only 5 are on my Friends list, can I still use WiiSpeak? Will is work with 5, 12, or some other number of players?
  6. Any other tips that will help me to be prepared for Sunday.

I am looking forward to this!

1- Ive played with a couple of people on these boards useing WiiSpeak. Id say use it if you have it, but try and optimize your WiiSpeak settings proir the game. Ive played with max sensitivity, but the in-game audio options turned down to about a 4-5. Seems to work with me. Oh, and youll need the updated version of the WiiSpeak Channel to use it while playing TC. It should say version 2.0.

2-I was just gfoing to let people vote of it while in the game lobby, but a pre-match setting should be better. Keep in mind that if you dont have WiiSpeak, theres no way to voice your opinion about game type, map, weapon set, etc. for the next match.

3- You dont need to do that to play with everyone in a game, but you should become friends automatically.

4- Thats right, just add my ode (which youve already done) and you can play and chat with everyone else as 'friends of a friend'.

5- Yup. See answer 4.

6- Practice and mess around with your WiiSpeak settings. A malfunctional WiiSpeak is an annoyance and disturbance in game.

Thats 8/12. Game is filling up quick. To those of us that have been missing out, theres a game planned for Sunday night at 6pst/9est. Quite a few of us have WiiSpeak, so use it if youve got it. Anyone that wants to join the game needs only be friends with me. You dont need to add everyone elses codes since youll be playing with 'friends of a friend'.

9pm est should be perfect for me - see you there.

I just bought it. Fun game, but I kinda suck (online). Camping with the SCAR brought me the only killing spree so far :S

If you are going to do that, make sure and duck so that you don't show up on radar and don't stay in an obvious place.

I just run and gun and have about a .8 k/d ratio right now as I started out pretty terribly.  If you run and gun, try and stay within easy reach of a med pack and aim for the head always.  Also, I personally don't think bunny hopping does any good although it might help out from being sniped...

           Now Playing!

^ This is you!

Gamerace is in. Thats 9/12.

Bunny hopping is quite funny to watch though, especially when about half the players are doing it.

Very realistic.
