Forums - Gaming - Rise of the iTouch..... The state of the major players.. 5/21/09

I just wanted to make a good thread of all the major publishers who are releasing titles on the itouch/phone, since it's interesting to see what these publishers can bring to the table to this very indie game device. Some of these developers shove the ipod to the backboard, so if you see more than one link, it means I had to scrounge for info. This info will undoubtedly be outdated in a week, so I'll use this as the base for future threads. If there's anything I've missed, let me know.

It's sounding like tap-shooter Resident Evil: Degeneration is just the tip of the iPhone-game iceberg for Capcom. Reuters reports that the company's mobile division intends to release "more than 10" titles on the portable platform by the end of March 2010. The announcement was made by Capcom chief financial officer, Kazuhiko Abe, at the news organization's Global Technology Summit in Tokyo.

Capcom has already released Mega Man 2 for iPhone/iPod touch in addition to last week's RE title. While more of the company's classics would be a welcome addition to the App Store lineup, we can only hope they'll benefit from feeback on the absurdly difficult-to-control MM2. What games would you like to see? Our absolute must-have is Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.

^^ This is recent news, so I put it at the top. CAPCOM has 4 games released right now, including the RE game as stated above.

Gameloft has released 25 games so far (according to their site), and is actively recruiting iPhone titles to publish, and iPhone developers. They also publish iphone versions of ubisoft titles.
