Forums - Sony - IGN Article: Kojima Countdown to reveal new Metal Gear.

MGS4 would not fit on an XBOX HD DVD. Can you imagine what would be the size for MGS5? I say PS3 exclusive.

Please not this again.

1.  Xbox 360 uses a Dual or Single Layer DVD not an HD-DVD
2.  It would just be on multiple discs,  no big deal

I think Kojima is going to crack finally and go multi-platform. Remember that Konami said that MGS4 is exclusive, but they will think about multiplatform in the future. Sigh, he's going to do it for the money, so disappointed. Thought he was going to do it for the game and not dumb quality down (FFXIII).

We're probably going to have to wait as they finish the 360 version, have the J-audio cut from the game, and more content will be cut.

If there is going to be an Xbox version of any MGS game, I doubt Kojima would let any of the content be cut from the game.  He just seems stubborn like that.  More than likely you would see a game than spans 3 or 4 discs.

I wouldn't be surprised with PS exclusivity....they were very satisfied with MGS4 sales

And Kojima likes to make exclusives, so he can focus on one platform. But in this day and age, you never know.

Dude's latest Metal Gear made Konami over a Billion dollars. I think that plus some Sony incentives will keep the franchise exclusive

I'm sorry.

I couldn't understand where exactly is the joke...

...

Wait, you are serious??

It would be hilarious if this was a 360 exclusive.

Being in a Playstation magazine kinda rules this out but it doesnt rule out it being multi-plat

It will be interesting if its XBOX exclusive.. but wot abt if its a Sony ploy to deflate MS E3 conference. but i think its going multiplatform.

It appears that 7-11 has let slip the release of a new Metal Gear game.  Looks like it could be a PS3 or PSP exclusive as well.

Would a PS3 owner (not fanboy, because they will probably ignore this anyway) clarify this for me, but I thought that MGS4 had a 5 minute install before every chapter of the game.  Is this true?  If so, having to change out disc would actually be . . . faster.

Just a thought . . .

Ehm, I think your enthusiasm affected your calculation skills a bit. MGS4 sold some 4 million copies. To net Konami over 1 billion USD Konami had to earn USD 250 per sold game. I think the real number will be closer to USD 100 million income, not bad but the game alledgedly cosed some USD 65 million to make.

Anyway I think a new MGS will very likely be PS3 exclusive as the fanbase is there and Kojima is a complete maniac when it comes to maximizing his games.

Unless sony paid them a lot of money for exclusivity and bundling... I don't see how that's remotley possible.

The installs were like two to three minutes in between levels.  I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing the installs were to load level textures to minimize loading during the chapters.  If that was the case than running it from the disc would be initially faster, but you would have more loading screens during the chapters.  But this could be avoided by installing them to 360 hard drive in advance.  I'm not quite sure why they didn't do one large install at the beginning of the game instead of all the small ones.

I sort of feel bad for Kojima, he should just leave Konami and start working on games that he wants to make, it's like he's being forced to make these games now and he's not able to innovate anymore.
