Nintendo announces that Wii Fit™ has sold through more than 520,000* units in Australia, only one year since launch! This makes Wii Fit the fastest selling console game to sell through more than 500,000 units.
Independent market research group GfK Retail and Technology Australia, confirm that the only console game that has sold more than this is Wii Play™ with 569,000 copies. Mario Kart™ Wii follows closely with 328,000 copies sold.
Coinciding with Mother’s Day, last week alone (week 19), Wii Fit sold through more than 29,000 copies in Australia!
Wii Fit, which launched in Australia on 8 May 2008 is an innovative and fun way to work out and have fun in the comfort of your own home. By using the Wii Balance Board, players can weigh themselves, check their BMI (Body Mass Index), choose from more than 40 exercises and play a variety of games.
