The both of us have only relayed what we were told by people who are actually working on the game.   Perhaps they both independantly lied to us or the game was since canceled after the fact or it's simply not ready to be unveiled.

Well, it would appear that the Wii version hasn't been announce at E3.

This could mean that the Wii version isn't far a long and it will probably turn out to be a spin-off or something when revealed. Another possibility is that they canceled it. A third consideration is that it wasn't real to begin with.
