Forums - Nintendo - I Predict 1st Wk Sales for EA Sports Active > Punch Out + Boom Blox Party

All honour to John Lucas Radio Robert the truesighted!'

Americas:

EA Active: 138K

Punch Out: 110K

Boom Blox: 26K

Others:

EA active: 68K

Punch Out: 12K

Needed for Boom Blox to tie:  58K

It's not going to do that.

Unless Japan has some major sales for either side (I doubt it will), it looks like Robert is correct.

When I write Fact: in one part of the post, and opinion: (or a similar word), it's not because I can then say "my opinion can't be wrong". It is to inform what part is pure facts, and which part I try to draw a conclusion in.

The 60 Gamestop stores within 100 miles of my location all report having Boom Blox Party, Punch Out, and EA Sports Active in stock.

EA Sports Active is going to be a stealth seller as it will be bought by atypical gamers. Boom Blox Party and Punch Out will have great legs. All three games should do well over the long-term, if not over the medium to short-term.

Boom Blox has a sequel? This is the first that I've heard of it. :p

People need to start buying Excite Bots and to not support either of the abominations that EA is releasing on the Wii.

"abominations"? You need to play these games before you troll.... EASA outdoes everything that Wii Fit claims to do, and Boom Blox Party is not only better than the critically acclaimed original, not just by my opinion, but universally by the gaming press and gamers as well. Excite Bots is great fun, but is bombing and won't outsell either of EA's new titles, both of which are absolutely stellar for their target audience.

BAM! There it is!

Boom Blox Bash Party being better than the original would only have to mean that the controls would have to work unlike the overrated and atrocious original which I had the horrible misfortune of picking up and playing because people like you claimed that it was the best thing since sliced bread.  EA Sports Active is a Wii Fit clone and also a blatant cash in.

EA has put out and is putting out all kinds of garbage on the Wii.  I suppose that you think that the new Madden looks awesome too, and Nascar Kart Racing, and the Dead Space lightgun shooter.  Both of the games recently released by Nintendo (Excite Bots and Punchout!!) are much better than anything that EA has released for the Wii.  Medal Of Honor: Heroes 2 is the only game that has been released on the Wii that's any good at all and let's face it, that's a port.  I'm sorry if my opinions aren't the same as yours, but they are my opinions.  Having an opinion is not trolling.  I'm sorry if you work for EA or whatever the deal is with that, but I cannot support the junk that they release on the Wii.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And "amp316" has a minority opinion regarding the Boom Blox franchise, but it is not a trolling one.

Having differences of opinions about games has always been a part of gaming.

Personally, I do not agree with "amp316" on this. But I respect his right to have a differing opinion.

That being said, I think he is onto something about EA being more reactive than proactive regarding the Wii. (Though I do think that art stylized players on Madden will not be an issue IF THE GAME PLAY IS GOOD).

Now that this happened, I think Active will also > Punch Out + Boom Blox Party Lifetime, possibly even double their lifetime sales.
