Forums - Gaming - Just started playing PoP

Despite what I initially thought about it as a cheap noob game I have to admit, this is a great game.

While playing it I was like, hmmm I wish I could contribute something to the company for this fine game that I'm renting over gamefly. I wouldn't want to pay full price, but like 10$ or something because this game is well put together, beautiful and nearly seemless. (there is a little loading)

It also has the entire world accessible by foot and it's relatively small while not really sacrificing depth. On top of that, it's small enough that it doesn't bore you with repetitive actions over and over. It is tiring going to the same area over and over, but it's really only 4-5 wall runs to each new area.

This game really reminds me of traditional gaming where plots were simple, but on top of that it has hours of voice acting and lots of hidden stuff. I LOL'ed when they played the "I spy with my little eye" game.

Great job. These trophies are goign to be really fun to harvest.

Wait until you start trying to collect all of the orbs. It's tedious and annoying. Not as annoying as trying to get all the agility orbs in crackdown, but it's up there.

Oh, and having to fight the same bosses multiple times is lame and cliche.

Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.

yeah but you don't fight them that much. It's over quite quickly.

I agree with you prof, it's a great game. In the end, you might feel like me, who enjoyed it all the way through, or be annoyed with the same things the game has already been criticized for by so many others.

Some of the later fights will be harder, but once you get a hang of the combos it never gets too difficult. Plus, you can't die... so that helps.

I also just rented this on Gamefly but so far I haven't liked it much.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

i thought the game was very average with a boring story and abit repetitive... but i will say the game is gorgeous looking

@euphoria

c'mon this game is beautiful. The effects are dazzling. Really really well done graphically. And it's not the cell shading that makes it great. It's the hand painted backgrounds and spell effects. Check out the combo strings, you can get 11-12 hit combos. Everything is fluid. The game can be beaten in under 10 hours.
Although it's not the perfect game in comparison to other games, it is pretty perfect for what it is.
PS: I am just coming off of gundam 2 where I've spent about 100+ hours already. It's nice to have a simple game too.

@Newcloud
while I disagree about it being average (I think it is pretty distinct), I'll concede that it definitely is not worth 50-60 dollars or even 30-50. I think I would have bought this game if t debuted at 30$ but not any more.

Ok, I've read through every post and I still haven't figured out what "PoP" is.

Me either what is PoP? I was thinking about another o in the name when I first saw the title.
