Forums - Sales - Is the Wii bubble About to Burst?

There is plenty to worry about the Wii, the real question is when will heavy third party support kick in to jump start hardcore gamers enthusiasm for it and will casual enthusiams for it ever die out? It's a very precarious situation, I wonder sometimes if the Wii is really as invincible as we like to think it is.

It is so true... kinda.

Exactly what new marketshare is WiiFit going to cater to, to drastically change, and expand the userbase?
(...)
The same goes for the X360 and PS3 offerings. There are only so many games that will drastically change their userbase. FFXIII will cater to the old SE crowd, MGS4 to the old action crowd, Halo to the US/Euro FPS crowd, GTAIV4 to the old PS2 crowd, ect.

How can you say that Wii Fit won't move consoles and Halo 3 will? You can use exactly the same arguing for Halo as you did for Wii Fit.
One thing you miss, however, is that some people may think that only Wii Sports is not worth 249 $, but maybe Wii Fit and Wii Sports is. Also, some people probably got in contact with the Wii last Christmas, but as time passed by, they forgot about it again. When Fit releases, the Wii will be hyped again and those people will think about getting one a second time, and maybe this time they're buying it.

as i stated in the sales forum. anyone thinking the wii's bubble is about to bust needs to hold off until after the holiday season of this year.

i mean the system was selling TREMENDOUSLY during the summer drought with relatively no games. and metroid came out and did admirable. but there is still smash (w/online) on the horizon and galaxy.

i seriously think that those two coupled with the holidays are going to sell a lot of systems and help nintendo add another mountain money monument to what they already have.

but after the holidays if things have slowed down or seem sluggish then maybe we can pipe on this discussion.

Look at all these hateboys. Probably getting a hard-on because the wii is dropping in sales. More sales drop the harder they get.

Cut the trolling. This is your one and only warning.

If I see you trolling again, its a week ban to start with.

you're going to ban me for my first offence? The hell is that?

People troll multiple times before their banned.

Also I'm sorry but these freaking hateboys celebrating because consoles numbers are down are just assholes. They did this with the 360 and there doing with the wii.

Its not just console numbers, games numbers to. Like that whole bullshit about heavenly sword floping. It sold pretty well, hateboys.

Anyway if you want to ban me for this go ahead but I don't think my post was worse than alot of the things that get posted.

Did you read my post?

That was your first (and only) WARNING. Trolling is NOT allowed. At all. Natta, zero. Its not some quota that you can use up, then recharge.

Neither of your posts in this thread have *any* direct relevance to the thread topic. Either you post on topic - or just leave the thread alone. There is no excuse to come in insult people - which is exactly what you have managed to do.

Cut the swearing, cut the "hateboy" crap. If you have a problem with something someone says, then report it - everyone else does.

...

If this is the sort of content you want to bring to this board, then you will end up banned - and stay banned. We don't want this sort of content - it ruins it for everyone. Go somewhere else if this is what you intend to do.

...

You are very lucky. I think most (if not all) of the other mods would have banned you on the spot - and definitely for the 2nd post. I'm going to err on the side of being nice - just don't do it again.

Third party Wii support? There were as many Wii games at TGS as PS3 and 360 combined. Last year, each PS3 and 360 had over 3 times as many games.

http://gonintendo.com/?p=25590

And Nintendo wasn't even AT TGS. So those are ALL 3rd party games.

You wouldn't know it, though, because the MS/Sony Hype Machines pretty much overran everyone else.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

You seem to forget,

MySims, Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party, Dewy's Adventure, Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire, Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis, Crash of the Titans, Spider-Man Friend or Foe, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, Brothers in Arms: Double Time, EA Playground, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution, Battalion Wars 2, Endless Ocean, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, The Simpsons Game, Manhunt 2, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis, Soulcalibur Legends, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Nights: Journey of Dreams, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Trauma Center: New Blood, Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, The Golden Compass, Thrillville 2: Off the Rails, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Ghost Squad, Jenga,FIFA 08, NBA 08, Nitro Bike, aside from MArio Galaxy and Smash Brothers third parties are lining up at least 121+ games for the period between september 2007-december 20007.

You might see many million sellers here but they are going to generate revenues for third parties considering their lower development cost.

Most of those games are rubbish and will sell poorly, both the 360 and ps3 have the better games coming out between now and the end of 2008.

I don't think so...SSBB is one HELL of a game, I still play SSBM ALLOT

Plus, to us hardcore gamers, it may seem that most of 360/PS3 games own most the Wii offers, but games like Super Smash Bros. make me want a Wii, and i'm sure many other hardcore gamers alike.

Let's see what Nintendo has to offer after 2007 & early 2008...
